Build a squad for each faction. Simply take this year's GenCon top 8 (7 factions represented so make a choice on New Republic), add in TINT's Mandos (regional winner) and the best Vong you can think of. And then add Talon Karrde/Embo from Vset6 for a pure Fringe squad. Ten squads - but of course lots of Vset pieces. Yah, I'm trying to avoid using v-set. No problem.

Too bad WotC purged their SWM boards as otherwise you could have read some of the massive debates on the harm GOWK did to the game.
Probably the most interesting thing about the debates was the complete role reversal of the veterans and the newer/casual players over the issue. Previously, you'd repeatedly see topics about how characters like Boba, BH, the X-1 Viper Droid, or Darth Bane were completely broken and destroying the game, but the vets would come in and explain why they weren't and pointing out critical weaknesses and things like that. But with GOWK, that time, the vets went and said "This piece breaks the game and destroys the meta, he needs to go", and the newer/casual players rallied to Kenobi's defense saying that there was nothing wrong with him.

didju compare SWM to Monopoly? without the Vsets SWM would suck as bad as Monopoly by now Don't get me wrong, swm is a million times better than Monopoly. I only used monopoly as an example of a completed board game that everyone would get the reference to. I just don't want to keep up with the v-sets. I would like to master the rules, game play, strategies, squads etc... using the current wotc pieces to play going forward. I just don't except the premise that wotc swm's is a bad game without v-sets. I love swm's and have a ton of fun with just the wotc pieces. It will take me YEARS to play all the different squads that can be built, therefore v-sets are simply not needed for me. So...I am trying to figure out what the "official" rules are/would be for someone like me in regards to optimal, correct game play. I have gotten a lot of good feedback for moving forward.

Some of it is still there through Google, but no direct links on WotC websites. Sometimes I get a search result to a wotc thread.

WotC Rules: http://sdrv.ms/PLSDDO ...click into the Rules folder there you will find PDF versions of: - the Clone Wars rulebook (last full rulebook published) - Errata (corrections to cards) - Glossary as it existed at the end of the game - FAQ as it existed at the end of the 'official' game also click into > Holocron > Articles ...for some useful guides about Line of Sight, Stealth, etc. That pretty much covers it... at least until I get around to uploading more articles from the old Holocron site
