My son and I just got into the new D&D 5th edition and both agree that having some generic miniatures to be our avatars would make the game better. I thought that using one of my laminated blank gridded swm maps and then coloring it in might work well enough I guess. Does anyone out there in bloo milk land know if our beloved star wars miniature maps are the right scale to use in the D&D world? Heroclix maps have gridded squares that are larger than swm so I know that maps aren't all created the same for different games.

DND minis are to scale with the 1-inch grid maps that we use in SWM. I know that we often used SWM maps when we used to play 4th Edition too.

Yes d&D 1"=30mm scale (heroic scale) is the same as SWM heroic scale, more or less. Both sacrifice scale for cool sculpting to one degree or another.
I use gamorreans as orcs all the time, and they work well against DDM figures.
