With so much focus on what's wrong lately - I thought I'd promote some positivity here.
What are your favorite v-set piece designs?
I am talking about the way it is designed. Competitive but not broken. Gives a key component to a faction/squad type.
It could be simple yet elegant, or it could be complex but ingenious.
Throw in your 2 cents.

My favorite piece in the whole entire game is a V-set piece, and I think it is a really good design. That piece is Celeste Morne. I think she is very well designed because:
-she has force cloak which helps her vs shooters -she has a CE taht was a huge boost to the Savage subfaction and made it so savage squads could be played competitively -She has enough damage output to compete against higher cost jedi (90 dmg), but also enough damage to deal with most shooters (60 dmg) -Sith alchemy 2 is one of my favorite force powers and its well designed because it acts as a swarm counter. I've literally seen uggies turn tail and run away from Celeste. -her abilities all match her character perfectly without going overboard and making it to complex to play.
So hands down Celeste is my favorite piece in the game and also my favorite piece to play. A very close second is the V-set Darth Caedus, the stats are great and SBM is a very good strategic ability. Very fun piece to play and I love that the V-sets made a good version of my favorite sith lord in Star Wars.

My Favorite is Luke, Hero of Endor. (with a close second to mandalore the Vindicated)
- HE has versatility which makes alot of the older lukes much more playable - He is a Good Melee piece in his own right - 80 damage on the move or standing still - Overwhelming Force! -Decent Movement with Knight speed -Decent Base Defense In addition to Lightsaber Defense. - And Melee Defense with Djem-so

I have a lot but I do really like IG-88A. I was able to design him right after I read his story in Tales of the Bounty hunters. I love that he boosts all the other 88's and makes them useful. Breaking the rules with Unique was also fun.
I also really like Daala. Storm troopers are a thing. The empire ran an entire galaxy on the power of Stormtroopers so they should be strong. I also really like that you can't get Lobot or Thrawn if you want to get her mojo. Very fun.

I'll probably add some more as I think of them, but:
- Momaw Nadon - great counter to mouse walls and other NPEs.
- v-set Caedus - SBM gives the Sith their own movement thing, which is kind of crazy, but really good.
- IG-88A - really like the pair of IG-88s. In general, I think the v-sets have done a good job on unique shooters - Boba AfH and CorreliHan are both fine as well. It's swarms and cannon pieces that have been more problematic.
- Cad Bane Bounty Hunter - makes living Seps really good.
- Bastila - people complained about her a lot, but I thought she was really well thought out and I'd prefer if she was a bigger part of the meta at the moment. I don't mind pairs of uniques having camaraderie stuff, but with better Vong and more Ysalamalari, there are a lot of squads she doesn't shut down.
- R2/3PO - really interesting tech piece for the New Republic.
- Kelborn - bought the Mandos up to speed
- Elite Republic Commandos - turned out really well, and they're fun to play.

One of my favorites is Freedon Nadd DFS. Incredibly simple yet so well designed.
-inexpensive -can give renewal to one character while also providing more FP for another. -helps really force-dependent characters -Screws with the enemy if you kill him

These dudes don't get the props they deserve. I remember soon after that set came out I heard somebody say they were terrible and unplayable. I've used them a ton though and think they're really strong and well designed. Probably my favorite V-set design; it's subtle but strong and makes you build squads differently.

Hard to pick!!
I think my favorite V-Set ability is Versatility for sure
And I like literally every Luke we've gotten but Master of the Order and Hero of Endor are two of my favorites. Good strong attackers with fun options on the card and in squadbuilding. Both really cool. Galactic Hero is also great and the recently spoiled one is going to be a blast. They are all original versions that have great flavor but feel true to the character and that is really important (and sometimes lacking.) I like those touches.
Recently Roan Lands has been a favorite of mine he really leads to interesting Rebel Builds with Ferus, and brings them away from Dodonna which is cool. And Old Ben is just fun.
I could just keep going and going.

For me, it would be either the NR K'Kruhk or Luke Skywalker, Galactic Hero (leaning toward the latter). K'Kruhk is 34 points of raw muscle, and he can go places quickly - especially with Ganner. He's what the original K'Kruhk should have been. Luke, GH is probably my hands-down favorite - similarly to K'Kruhk, he's built for one thing: demolishing enemy melee beats. He's cost-effective, a great boost to the NR, and has just the right amount of really cool special abilities. He can hold his own against shooters (provided he has enough FP) with LSDefense and LSThrow 3, and he can annihilate lone beatsticks with his +19 for 30 four times (with GMA!). With both of these, however, they're not overpowered, they're not invincible, but they're cost-effective and really fun.

Jan Ors is one of my favs because I was the ONLY person to have Old Kyle in my play group for years and so I grew to love that squad.
Mandalore the Resurrector is awesome too, because I designed most of him.

Mando already beat me to the punch, but I have to say that Luke Hero of Endor IS the reason I play this game. My favourite Star Wars character from my favourite Star Wars movie... and, even though I didn't know he was coming when I first started playing, I felt his presence.

Marn Heiroglyph.
I feel he really captures the flavour of the character, is playable but not easily so. It took a spark of genius from Ricky Heck to take him to the top but he is so often an overlooked piece.

Lot of great ones named so far - but I have to go with Darth Revan Sith lord.
Revan was a pinnacle of design even to this day, many consider it one of the best made and most balanced set of stats yet. With the addition of Jaq and Kaan in the next set, Sith were now competitive. It took until Caedus (another excellently designed figure from the 5th set) to have a competitve Sith squad without Revan SL, and even then it has never matched the success of Sith squads with Revan SL. It’s pretty amazing that a piece in the first set has almost universally always been competitive, but never thought of as overpowered.
The one phase move-swap-do something is the key. I remember having it explained to me, and at the time when all I knew was Thrawn style swap, it took awhile to wrap my mind around the subtle brilliance of it, and how it needed to be used differently.
Of course master tactician is integral and a nice through line from the older, over-costed version. It helps his cunning, and that with LS assault makes him offensively legit as well. Of course master speed, good stats and LS defense round out the package - making him a design for the ages.

Lot's of good ones. Top o' my brain....... Celeste Morne- make savage playable, and a great EU Jedi. Bastilla Shan, JM- took the OR to top @ GC. Why don't more people play her? Vergere-lots of tools to help force users. And maybe my besy custom to date. Darth Zannah-hawt kick ass killer! Blizz- has a huge bag of tricks for such a very small guy. Dread Masters- more FP's make these guys awesome.
