2020/20 Star Wars Miniatures Strategy Guide

A strategy guide leading up to GenCon 2020 and introducing Vset 20: Always Two There Are / Rise of Skywalker.

Faction: Rebel

Top Pieces to Know (outside of subfactions):

General Dodonna (activation control, but currently nerfed)
General Rieekan (Evade and Mobile Attack)
Princess Leia (Cannon shot)
Lando Calrissian, Infiltrator (GMA via Specialization)
See-Threepio (C-3PO) (Cloaked via 3720 to 1, Distraction, Relay Orders, Diplomat)
Luke Skywalker, Rebel Commando (Levitation)
Jan Ors (Massive boost to a Kyle Katarn, also works in NR)
Versatility pieces for Han, Luke, and Leia

The Rebels are a major faction with many viable pieces. I've mainly listed pieces that are key tech pieces to build a squad around. You will also need your offensive pieces, and there are many options.

Subfactions (and key pieces):
Rogue One (Captain Cassian Andor: Valiant Reprisal to Unique Rogue One)
SpecForce (Crix Madine, SpecForce Commander)
Commando (General Crix Madine: Disruptive and Cunning +20 to commandos)
Ghost Crew (Ahsoka: Brutal Strike, Defensive Stance +4, +10dmg to Kanan/Ezra, big Rapport; Kanan: 80dmg Blaster Barrage while adjacent)

Some squads:
Rebel Balance (2019 NZ champ)
Smug Commandos (2010 GenCon champ)
Prison Break (2016 GenCon champ)
Rogue One
Long-Range Kanan Cannon

ATTA/RoS newcomers:
Lux Bonteri (Separatist with Affinity) is the only new Rebel piece in Vset 20. He gives Twin Attack to Partisan allies and a cannon shot to a non-Unique non-Fringe ally.

I won NZ Champs last year with this:

No Dodonna definitely hurts it, although it's pretty good against rock.

Thanks. I'll add it above. Is there a full list of other NZ winners?

I don’t think there’s a centralised one. Mike Moore Smuggler won with Fringe in 2018.

Great find, gandalf. And great stats by Kezz. Though I don't know how I'd find them again if I lost this link.
