I play mini's quite a bit but I'm more of a game master who runs Star Wars RPG campaigns. I'm looking to acquire as many of the maps as I can. I have about 17 of them now (that's counting both sides).
Are there places or websites that anyone knows of who sell just maps for a low price? I really can't afford the high prices of some of the ones I've seen.
Thanks for the advice!

Miniature Market sells map packs designed by Jedicartographer and Armoredgear7. Those are some of the best deals you will get anywhere. Typically 6-8 maps for about $35-$40. You'll be hard pressed to find any SWMs/RPG maps for less than that. Also look at Chris West's (Mapmaker's) maps on his website, www.mapsofmystery.com.

Ditto what Lobo said, those are some really great quality products, and if you have the means to get them printed yourself on the cheap, there are plenty of maps that can be downloaded on the Holocron site. http://www.the-holocron.com

Yup. The official maps that are in out of print, out of stock, items are virtually impossible to find, and expensive when you do. The high quality custom maps available now are a much better deal. DCI is the only reason you really need some of the official ones and that doesn't seem to be your bag so you're in the enviable position of being able to ignore them for the often superior customs.

Nickname - do you have some sort of custom keyword alert that lets you know whenever someone posts "Holocron" on here? If so, how do I get something like that

LOL. Looks like we were typing at the same time. I only saw Lobo's response and wanted to clarify why he was recommending customs over official maps. Hey, I'm closing in on double digit posts on Bloo Milk. Not bad for 6 months!

I agree they are awesome (the newer maps) I'm just a bit on the strapped side right now so I'm looking for maybe some good deals on used ones or someone willing to trade some for minis.

Man I love collecting the maps. I think I have almost all of them now. Along time ago I found a site that had downloadable maps into pdf files. I checked into getting them printed and decided it was out of my price range. Now if I could find a way to get to play on these maps it would be great Unfortunately I only get to play DCI events on a regular basis. I can't get my boy to play at home with me anymore.

I have the same problem. Mine is into Magic now. I have these shiny new JC's Map Pack 2 maps, and have yet to make use of them. Sigh...

Thanks for the plug, LoboStele! My new Swamp Caves & Desert Sanctum poster is about half way to the point where it has paid for itself, so as long as folks keep buying it and spreading the word, I'll keep making more. By the way, the address is actually http://www.mapsofmastery.com but as I also own the www.mapsofmystery.com domain as well, and have the site mirrored, either should work.

Yah, Holocron has good maps but they NEVER update and I can't put my maps up there. Assuming of course, that anyone would want mine. Probably not.

I update HOLOCRON whenever I have something worth updating it with. JC, AG7 and Mapmaker are just about the only ones making maps recently and they're all selling pre-printed versions.

One thing my son and I have done was take turns laying out terrain counters on the table and use a ruler to measure movement as 1 square=1 inch. I also used some styrofoam packing for buildings and other 3D type of structures. We had some house rules for range modifers but we had alot of fun playing that way.
