I want to explore a concept. Vader is Vader. If you watch the movies, it's all about Vader. When you play against a Vader, are you a bit more scared than normal? When you play with a Vader, are you a bit more confident?
The reason I ask this is that, when we play (there's about 10-15 of us and our skill level ranges from beginner to not to bad), as soon as someone puts a Vader on the board, things seem a little different. I tell the new players who use one, that people are afraidof Vader - and quite often they are.
Concur? Disagree?

I guess it depends on which vader. I know things get a little uneasy whenever I see vader, jedi hunter/ lord vader on the board. Especially in a b&b squad.

I get a foreboding sense of losing when I run Vader. Unless their running Vader, Unleashed, I usually feel pretty solid about the game.

I felt a bit threatened by Vader on sunday when I played against him. But I have yet to put a Vader in one of my squads, mainly because I only this week got my first vader minis.

I would agree, I am a bit less gung ho when playing if I see a Vader stareing at me, I never thought about it until you mentioned it, but its true, weird.

You know I haven't thought of it that way. Good observation.
For me, it depends on which Vader. If it's Lord Vader/Vader Unleashed/Vader Scourge of the Jedi I almost always run into trouble. When I see Vader Imperial Commander, I tend to be more confident since he doesn't have the more dangerous tricks that the above mentioned have.

I remember when Vader Jedi Hunter was the big Vader on campus, Ya, he struck fear in me and my team. LOL. now though things are pretty much even, If He's got a beast Vader, Then I,ve got a beast on my team to. The GM Luke is the beast for me now.

I can often feel intimidated by Vader.... Mostly because he is powerful. (Lord Vader! )

I am more afraid of the person who is running Vader really. If I'm playing someone on my skill level, I will be a little nervous. If I'm up against a novice, then its easy breezy. I cant tell you how many times I have Big D'ed Vader, the only one I havent faced yet is Scourge of the Jedi. Ive had Ewoks roll crits back to back on him and kill him. And then there are those instances where Vader, LoTF with get swapped in on me and own my face. Its all in the person you are facing really.

I have a psychological block whenever I see Lord Vader, I narrowly lost to him at a tourney, and now I see him and lose some confidence lol. I also have a psychological thing with Vader-Unleashed, seeing him across the table unless I have Vong scares me.

Arguably this same feeling of fear could be instilled in any player going up against Boba, BH, if only because of the Big D.. And on topic, the only Vader that scares me is Lord Vader. That guy is evil with the new Thrawn...

Logically, I know every Vader is beatable, though JH is miserable.
Subconsciously, I always get a little cocky running any Vader, myself. He was the bad guy! He's gonna be tough, no matter what!

I don't know, vader doesn't worry me too much, but then again I'm the one usually running him...
There are a few minis that can intimidate me alittle though, guys like Darth Bane, Boba BH, and GMLS.

As others mentioned yea theres pretty much only one Vader that i fear & thats Lord Vader. Obviously when someone runs him then you know its gonna be with Thrawn & Mas. I hate that team lol.
Im more scared when i play Boba BH, just because at any moment no matter what your opponent's skill level is, he/she can roll a 20 on your best figure on your squad. Its just that thought in the back of your mind that has me scared lol.
But i feel what your saying, vader is vader so i feel when someone is playing vader they do keep there eye on him regardless of what vader they are playing.

I think Vader does put a little bit of fear into an opponent because everyone knows that Vader is powerful. I think it makes people play a little more carefully around him because everyone knows that if you screw up around Vader, you're dead.

Vader is one of my all time favorite bad guys (He's right up there with Venom and the Joker) and quite possibly my favorite SW character. He has Presence. He is who the trilogy is about, and his power in the Force is substantial. His reputation has only been enhanced by the minis they've made of him, and combining Vader unleashed with Palpatine on Throne unleashes a beast that I have not been defeated with. Ever. So when you've got synergies and CO's to go with him, I will fear you and call you master. That is, if I'm not doing the same thing.
