the new GAW rex:

"Captain Rex, 501st Commander"

the first 2-ranked character

on Atton's flavor text, it said he was a "skilled pilot". he has no pilot ability

...just to name a few. can you think of any?! :)

Extremely unlikely

Nien Nub has nothing

Kyle Katarn (original) clearly not the one man wrecking crew he is said to be, unless they are referring to him wrecking only one man....

Darth Vader Sith lord/Darth Tyranous legacy of the Sith Both clearly not sith faction

Wookiee Hunters are considered Wookiees by Clone Commander Gree and Merumeru.

I think what he means is like:

General Grievous, Supreme Commander
Emperor Palpatine, Sith Lord

I guess General Veers, Hologram may also apply :P

How about the At-At as a Colossal Miniature? (huge minis work too, but not as oxymoronic - I made up a new word!)

Jedi Hunter works against Sith?

Just so you guys know, Commander in conjunction with a rank is not contradictory unless they are in the Navy according to the American ranking system. Commander is used as a military title that refers to someone at the top of a command structure, except in the Navy, where it is a rank equivalent to an O-5. Therefore, Captain Rex can also be the Commander of a company in the 501st Legion.

For instance...

General Eisenhower Supreme Commander of the Allied forces in Europe.

Commander is also an O-5 for the Coast Guard. I bring it up only because they tend to not get the respect they deserve. As you state above the U.S. Airforce and Army will have Wing/Squadron/Flight/Corps/Division/Brigade/Regiment/Battalion/Company/Squad/Platoon commanders.

Very well said. I had no idea how rank really works in millitary. It seems like it can get a bit complicated (for your everyday Joe the Plumber like me).

Coast Guard doesn't count.

This is the only actual oxymoron here.

EDIT: took out last sentence. I don't have time to start a debate.

The thing is though, Commander is an actual rank in the Grand Army of the Republic (regardless of Earthly connotations), which CAPTAIN Rex is a member of (Commander Neyo, Commander Cody, Commander Gree, Commander Bacara, Commander Ahsoka, etc.).
