I love SWM.
I lay awake last night for maybe an hour (thanks to be woken up by both my daughters) mostly thinking about how FlObi would go against a GrievousSotJ... I can't imagine that obsession in me will die away soon... at the rate I'm going - even if I didn't buy any MotF or Dark Times - I still have about 7 years before I've really played every piece I have...
Also, all this news is about a week, two weeks old... how things will look in a coupl'a months with the amount of work this fabuloso community is putting into it will be pretty good. See you then.

Will still play casual for ages.
Won't use virtuals/customs
Will hope for new licence
Will dream of collecting even 25% of all minis...

That sounds like a plan. I just printed that whole book out at school the other day! I'm with you Steve.

With a brand new set only a week or so old, and a new set in April, I am going to play like normal. However I am starting to look ahead, and have begun the process of molding new pieces with some minor success. I still have a bit to learn, but hope to teach people how to make their own customs out of "Smooth-On" products. The first couple of casting have been encouraging.

I printed it off awhile back. I was looking for a campaign style set of rules and Chuck pointed me to it. I was actually looking for something along the lines of a larger scale type of campaign. Anyone seen something that would substitute for a playstyle like the computer game Empire at War?

Not familiar with "Smooth-On products." What are they? Is that like "Green stuff?" Just curious.

Oh Mickey, I've been wanting to have something like that for year's now! Let me know if you find anything please.

Not familiar with "Smooth-On products." What are they? Is that like "Green stuff?" Just curious. It's much more than green stuff, it is a plastics modeling company. They make all sorts of different plastic from super bendy to extremely rigid. They also have products for building molds. It isn't cheap to invest in, roughly a 100 bucks to get the starter kit and one refill pint. However you should be able to get 75-150 medium based miniatures from that, depending on how you make the bleed lines. if you don't make bleed lines, you get air bubbles or an incomplete casting. Refills aren't all that bad 25-40 bucks depending on if you need more rubber for molds, or plastic for castings. It breaks down to roughly .50 a miniature. the idea is to make a nice custom figure and then cast it to get multiple copies. I am not looking to do it for mass production or a lawsuit. But for example, If I want an At-st driver, I don't want only one, i want 10, It will be nice to have a solid piece casting with minimal points to break.

Now that sounds cool! $100, I might have to look into that. I used to work for a company that ran plastic injection molding machine's. They were the size of semi-tractor trailer's. Hard work, long hours, lot's of manual labor. Was paid pretty good to do it.

I was actually just about to put most of my minis up for sale. The economy's not great, don't know if you've heard that on the news since no one ever brings it up. Anyways, this made me marshal my pride and decide to get small but usable collections for the four big factions. Hopefully I can get more of my friends to play since I never make time to go to stores or tournaments.

I get more use out of the figs for the RPG, so I don't see much change for me except that I won't be getting new races to introduce in my campaigns. There is so much out there that I don't have, though, that I'll continue to pick up things that I can use. I don't think the RPG takes as big a hit as the SWM game; all you really need is the initial book and anything else you can make up. Every game is a new game, so it doesn't need the constant "new factor" in order to make the game interesting.
When I do play SWM, it is mostly just casually with my brother. That won't change. I would be interested in virtual sets, but I have so much that I've never got to play before that I can still enjoy the game.
I would love if the game was picked up, even if the mechanics drastically change just because I love collecting and would still use new figs in the RPG. I don't know if I would pick up a newer version of the RPG, though.

I recently started handing out my older rule books to people at school to add some more gamers to our small group.

I was going to get a copy of Clone Wars starter set and give it to a friend of mine and his son when I have the cash for it.
