Dr. Destructo wrote:I support upping Rieekan to around 25pts, the fact that he is so cheap is criminal. Ever consider that his cheap cost might be so that he is used in so many Rebel squads, so that the annoying ability to not be killed becomes pretty much part of the identity of the Rebel faction, which makes perfect sence because of their hit-and-run strategies and ability of their heroes to overcome overy close call? I don't see what the big stink is. He redefined the Rebel faction to better reflect what the Rebel Alliance was like. This is Star Wars Miniatures after all. I don't see how it's broken or "criminal." Rebels are far from the only competitive faction.

I'd say the Clone Trooper...the regular clone trooper...I'd make him cost 7 or 8...though seven would be better.
Compare him to a 501st Trooper - or a Sandtrooper even - and you can tell they are costed 1 point more than they should be, maybe 2.
They're a centerpiece of the game in terms of playing for fun...
All the regular troops except for the Stormtrooper should be recosted.
Battle Droids to 3, Supers to 8, Rebel Troops to 4, and Clone Troopers to 8 (or 7).

look at the Sith Assault Droid, he has much more better Stats + Flamethrower for just 6 poinzs more ... seems unfair :)
Though keep in mind that the SAD is part of the Sith faction and thus doesn't have access to the level of upgrades that Separatist droids enjoy. That was my thought exactly. The SAD/SHAD could certainly benefit from some re-costing as well.

I'd up Kyle Katarn Jedi Battlemaster to 55 so that when I do dynamic duo I can have exactly 100 points with Mara Jade Jedi and my OCD won't bother me.
Also- Shado Vao to 42 and Luke Legacy down to 35

Quote:Well, Wedge is a pretty strong selling point in a NR squad. Plus the extra 30 HPs is a bonus. Sure, Kol doesn't have Deflect or Riposte, but I think Force Push can easily make up for that. For the points, I have a hard time justifying the use of Shado over Kol. In addition, Kol has a higher attack yet he's 10 points cheaper. Shado may have GMA, but he's not going to have a great chance at matching a piece of similar cost.
It should also be noted that Wedge and the TBSV can help other characters in your squad (and they are hardly slouches themselves).
I just don't see why anyone would use Shado over Kol. Wedge is a strong selling point, yes, but he's not really essential anymore. I've got one NR squad that I like to play that has Shado, Dash, and Lando DS with Leia Skywalker for backup. Wedge is hardly necessary because the figs either already have Evade or very high Defence with Block/Deflect/MOTF and free rerolls. It works quite well. Having built-in range defence and Greater Mobile gives Shado an advantage over Kol.

Again, I find Kol to be more worth his points on a consistent basis. Shado just feels overcosted. Also, Mobile Push can be a real pain for the opposition.

I don't know, Shado doesn't have to depend on Wedge and a Twilek for Greater Mobile and Range protection, so 10 more points to not require 41 pts. Shado's higher base defense is better against range defense and against shooters. And Deflect is always better than Evade when a shooter bases. And Shado is down right sick with Leia. Riposte also allows Shado to have a little extra damage output.
You can build 2 completely different squads around these 2 figures, with different weaknesses and strengths.

Sure, Skywalker's CE plays a role in the cost, but the two are somewhat a like. I certainly don't complain about General Skywalker. I may have to reconsider my stance on Shado.

I would double the mouse droid to 6 pts, maybe 7. SOrry if this is a repeat,,, didn't read thru all the posts. As much as I like, and use it, it just seems really cheap for 3 points (in more ways than one). cheers MAINEiac

Well, to be fair, General Skywalker is in the Republic, making it easier to use him and shore up his weaknesses.

I'd consider dropping the cost for Revan except that his CE is one of the best in the game. Just gotta use it wisely. Maybe drop him to 85...but that's all

Obviously Shado does not have access to R2 AMD or Swapping. The real question is how much is that CE worth. I'd wager it's worth at least 9-11 points of Anakin's cost. Of course Anakin does have a rather lethal combo of GMA + Momentum + Knight Speed.

Easy Luke Jedi Master from 74 to 54, and Carth Onasis from his crapy high cost to the low 20's

Shado Vao vs Kol: Try running Shado Vao and you might change your mind, he is really a pain to take down and GMA/Precision MOTF 2 combo comes in handy plenty of times.
Shado Vao and General Skywalker: I ran a Fantastic 4 (160 pts) Light Side/Dark Side with the two of them together with Qui-Gon Jedi Master and Wedge. GMA/Momentum/Precision/MOTF3 kinda rocks.

Shado is awesome. Sure 48 points is steep, but he is a tank with free rerolls. To be honest, he's not great at taking out big guns, thanks to the 100 HP, but against mid level multiple attackers, he is a ninja.
Pretty much most of my squads have him in them for that reason...
