Personally, I'd like to see a cheap (6-9 points) with similar stats to a Elite Rebel Trooper (but with a little better def.) and all three squad abilities.

And how many points do you think that would cost?

I'm guessing 6-9 points. Laugh

Look at the Rodian Raider, totally underestimated at 10 points. You can give the little green freak greater mobile and hurt some stuff with a Czerka, Rieekan, TBSV, Talz Chieftain and Jabba Crime Lord. hes got 10 base, so he is getting triple twin at +11 for 30 damage 6 TIMES (under the correct circumstances ofcourse).
Dragons Hopes for a card like the one he stated could cost 10 points easy. Raider being the example.

I'd say the big thing that'd keep the cost down of my hypothetical hope is that you'd need at least 4 of the mini clustered together for any effectiveness.

True dat. And he wouldn't have access to Gree's work-around in that regard.

And how much did you just pay to buff up those Raiders? Don't get me wrong, I like the Rodian Raider. The Raider, though, has a big weakness - 20 HPs.

So I'm not sure the Raider is "totally underestimated at 10 points." Fun piece? Oh yeah.

Well, you wouldn't be spending all of those points just on the Raider. Those pieces that I mentioned are used in about 60% of squads (mind you, that is within my circle of players), and within that circle, no one uses the Raider, because they are deterred by his HP.
I totally agree though, he is a ton of fun to play with. But using Dragons example for the rebel hopefully costing 10 points with the abilities he stated, it isnt too far fetched that he could 10 points. It would require 40 points just to use the ability, where my example costs alot more. So I see your point.

Now that we know the stats of the Rebel Soldier, it's not what we were hoping. Not that great, IMO.

Yeah I am quite disappointed. But I am sure he will have his uses.

Eh, I wouldn't hold your breath on that one. His cost was jacked up thanks to Grenades 30. Reminds me of the costing of the two Boushhes. Not horrible pieces, but overcosted thanks to the Grenades 40.

That is so true. The new Boushh is a fantastic figure, but waaayyy over costed.

I think it goes back to Rob's fascination with Grenades. Are they fun to use in a game? Sure. But they are hardly as game changing as Rob (or Peter) might think. I even look at an older piece like the Wookiee Warrior (from Legacy) as another example. He was considered overcosted at the time. He also had Grenades 20. Seemed to up his cost, because the Warrior does not offer anything else. From what I've seen, Grenades 10 is the only Grenades ability that doesn't tilt the cost too much.

Shame the higher cost figs like Boussh didn't get an upgraded version of grenades where the save only cuts the damage in half, or something like that.

IMO, grenades W/O stealth is nearly useless.
