Yeah, there are a couple of guys that just started getting into the game and they really have a lot of heart. But of course they're early teens that are on a $40 a week budget with little no meta required pieces in their collection. So waylander, Tim and I have been hooking them up with as much as we can to help them beef up without it costing us way too much. In particular I hooked one of em up with a trade WAY in their favor. They pulled a Lobot, CLO and I traded my General Whorm Loathesome for it and a couple of EG's. The way I see it, there's not much fun in pistol whipping a blind kid. They need a better collection to play better. No matter how smart or good you are at the game, Nikto Soldiers DON'T WIN BATTLES. Plus with a little encouragement and advice, they no longer get discouraged. Better to lose a little value in the trade than lose fresh gamers and potential friends.

Amen brother.
Thats what I'm shooting for. I just gave one of the kids a Lord Vader I was saving for a rainy Ebay day.

Hi everyone, Smile I was debating on posting a similar story. And since I found Bobby's here and read thru it, I'll post mine here as well.

I'm in a similar situation as yours Bobby. We take care of our grandson while our daughter get's her life in order. Money can get really tight and we usually only get our mini's around the holiday's. My self, my son, and my brother play the game and we have a lot of fun. Just like you said it is a bonding experience. ThumpUp

To get to my story though. Most of what I have on my trade's list aren't on too many people's high wants, I have been able to conduct some business though and I think I just hit +15 on the GTL here. Anywho, I got to talking with ChuckaFett thru bloo mail. *Really cool guy BTW* Smile And he offered to trade with me even though my trades weren't on any of his wants. I thought this was really cool of him to offer to me and we worked out a deal and I sent him my mini's. 5 to be exact, and most of them are kinda older ones. He was supposed to send me 12 in return.
The day come's and the box arrives and I'm thinking man that box seems a little large for a handful of mini's. Then I see how much it cost him to send and it's kinda pricey. Triple if not quadruple the price it cost me to send mine to him. For a few moment's I'm feeling bad that it cost him so much money.
Then I open the box and my jaw hit's the floor and roll's down the street Bug's Bunny Style. It's filled with mini's. WAY more than he was supposed to send. My son's eye's were the size of tea cup saucers and my brother is standing there slack jawed in amazement as I pull handful after handful after handful of SW mini's out of the box. I stared at the box for quite a while speechless. It took me several hours to collect my thought's and think of how and what I would say to Chuck in my thank you Bloo mail. It turned into a rather lengthy thank you note and I started to ramble as I lost track of my thought's again. Smile
I mean, it was already really cool of him just to offer to take my older mini's in trade for some of the newer ones. That by itself was super ultra cool of him to do.

But to top that off with so much more on top of that. I thought my head was gonna explode when I opened that box. Laugh And he gave those to me for the same reasoning that 11MB StarWalker gave those to you Bobby.

Thanks again Chuck, you rock bro! And thank you Bobby for posting your story and to you 11MB StarWalker for what you did for Bobby and his boys. ThumbsUp

Haha! That's amazing, and yet it doesn't really surprise me. Chucka's good reputation is all over this site if you look around and read between the lines. Not surprising at all. I love these stories.

Thing is John, You don't give yourself enough credit. Guys like you make it easy for guys like Chuck to do these things. I give minis to the guys at the LGS for free all the time, because they have such great interest, and they have earned my respect and trust. If a guy is a, let say jerk, you tend to not want to give your minis away. There are a couple guys like that everywhere. But when you run into someone that has a great attitude and outlook, like yourself, you do what you can to help!! It promotes the game and helps people become better players, not to mention, that hopefully they will return the favor when they are able one day by doing the same thing for someone else.

Chuck is an awsome guy, no questions, but you are a great guy too, and you probably made it easy for him to do that!! Don't sell yourself short my friend.
