As a former fraud investigator for another gaming company, this story blows my mind... http://www.icv2.com/articles/news/17234.htmlState-wide fraud goes undetected by WotC for 8 years. To the tune of $75,000 of prize product. I guess WotC didn't have anyone out there looking for fraud?

To be more fair than my original assessment, the guy responsible was an organizer for 8 years. The most egregious fraud went on for 10 months before he was caught.
He probably was legit for a half dozen years but at some point went from player to scumbag, before achieving super-scumbag.
However, I think the proactive policies and policing my former used to have would have nipped this prior to it growing into wide-scale fraud. The fact that it was able to blossom so much and go on for 10 months still seems like a sign that no one is minding the baby.

Part of me says what a douche. But part of me has to wonder at the thought proccess that went through this guy's head. Somewhere along the line it occurred to him that he could sell promo cards, then I guess he figured out a way to get more. But still, actions like his never do anyone any good. Think of the people who bought cards from him and how it will make them feel that they were procured dishonestly.
