Hey you lovely and most knowledgable folk.
I'm finishing a Graphic Design degree this year and I need your help. Part of a project we have due in 6 weeks is we have to take a piece of writting of some kind and pull some ideas out of it and I wanted to ask you: do you know of any writings in the Star Wars Universe that express the fight of good and evil (light side-dark side) and what role the jedi have in seeing that good is done to others - if it includes something about lightsaber, then that is all good.
Don't worry - you're not doing my assignment for me! I have the concept of the idea and what I'd like to represent... its just that I'm researching some writings and I'd love your help - if you know anything like the above! A paragraph or a handful of sentences - anything!
You rule.

Two passages from the RotS novelization:
"The brightest light casts the darkest shadow."
&
"The dark is generous, and it is patient, and it always wins – but in the heart of its strength lies weakness, one lone candle is enough to hold it back. Love is more than a candle. Love can ignite the stars."
Otherwise, some of the teachings Kreia gives in KOTOR II could be useful.

RotS by Matthew Stover Yoda vs Palpatine "It came when the avatar of light resolved into the lineage of the Jedi; when the lineage of the Jedi refined into one single Jedi ... This truth:that he, the avatar of light, Supreme Master if the Jedi Order, the fiercest, most implacable, most devastatingly powerful foe the darkness had ever known.. just- didn't- have it." pg 396 "When those blades met, it was more than Yoda against Palpatine, more the millennia of Sith against legions of Jedi;this was expression of the fundamental conflict of the universe itself. Light against dark Winner take all." Just maybe have something with good vs evil, maybe.

There's some really good stuff about Light vs. Dark in "Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor".
I can't quote a page and paragraph like these other guys, but the first bit of good stuff along those lines is less than half way through the book, IIRC.
