If a step was to be take to tone down the Naboo what would you vote for? Is a change even necessary? These are the questions I ask myself while I'm at jimmy johns. That... and praying for God to give me strength when it comes to my 16 yr old boss -_-
As always keep the conversation clean and on topic y'all. Thank you!

I'd like to see Naboo toned down a little, but I think just getting rid of Panaka's rapport would be enough.
Naboo have won two majors in NZ - the NZ National tournament in 2012 (Pilots) and HamilCon 2015 (Troopers).

Giving board-wide twin to cheap Non-uniques is never ok with me. Twin is one of the more powerful abilities in the game, if you drop that and make it Double and lose the Rapport than you have a good character that can compete but is not tier 1 (at least I think that would be the case)

I'm on the twin band wagon and making this squad tier 2. I believe it isn't good to have any tier one pure types of squads, meaning rock, paper and Scizzors. I see naboo as just that, a tier 1 pure paper. Also, I think that polls like this are good for the community. It allows us to see where we all stand and creates productive discussions on hot topics.

While annoying I believe Bastilla keeps these guys in check as she shuts down their team entirely. That being said I wish he didn't had out twin or the rapport when he was first made. I also don't really like the idea of errata-ing everything

As always keep the conversation clean and on topic y'all. Thank you! At least your boss has an excuse - "he's only 16". There are many times when I just stare at my boss, thinking "he can't have just said that". By the by, voted for losing twin.

Option not listed.
Give him Rival with Mon Mothma.

Does that work thematically though, I don't remember them interacting in the stories?

well... Twin death shots are stupid. Full stop. The troopers should have been named Naboo Security Guard or something like that. They did not need the extra access to trooper boosts. Bad for design considering what they already have access to without needing to be troopers. Rival out Mon Mothma, and you may just see Plo Koon JM take her place. Those two stack by the way. Dual-Twin death shots for the troopers. Good thing it costs too much to be viable, apparently. Ban the trooper, or kill the Twin CE on Panaka (maybe Rapport too).

While strong, I don't really consider them dominating enough to warrant eratta. Plus, they suffer bad in the face of CE suppression.
They could always use another counter though. I'm imagining a cheap fringe tech piece with an ability that negates Twin Attacks on it. Give it some decent HP and/or DR 10 and watch the Naboo's barrage turn into spitballs.

Heh, forgot about her, but I was thinking something a bit beefier that didn't need to rely on shield saves to live, like a Wookiee/Yuzzem Vanguard or something.

CE suppresion used to be the way to beat them, but that isn't the case anymore. You can thank the Padawan Commander for that. He's got Squad Leader, which says: Trooper and soldier allies gain Squad Discipline (Ignores enemy abilities that suppress commander effects while 3 allies with the same name as this character are within 6 squares) Pretty much a F U to any disruptive, Bastilla, or distraction squads that were the counter to the Naboo deathshot squads. Now that they can get Squad Discipline, good luck dealing with them with those original counters.

Give it some decent HP and/or DR 10 and watch the Naboo's barrage turn into spitballs. Here is how I think of things. Think of SWM as a large white sheet. The more white it is the better it is, no one likes stains. Things like Naboo Troopers are stains. (it just doesn't fit, naboo troopers should never be tier 1) You cant get rid of the stain until you do something about it. trying to cover up the stain or folding the stain so it cant be seen does not get rid of the stain. What do you do with a sheet that has too many stains? You toss it out and find something else. As these discussions for errata come up (Poggle, Ysalamiri, and Troopers, probably a few others (Klat Assassin)) I think we need to think about what is going to clean up the game and what is going to clean up game play as a rule. The, we can fix that by adding this philosophy, does not clean the stain, it hides it. Sometimes it hides it well (mouse walls for instance) sometimes it doesn't hide it well at all (Bomb expert dude). Getting rid of the stain altogether doesn't just hide it, it gets rid of the whole problem at the source.

(think trying to erase something) That is what happens sometimes when we counter our counters. How to we stop Naboo Troopers, with disruptive? Well now that is not fair, how do we stop disruptive? Squad Leader, whats next? Perfect Disruption: Enemy CE's are suppressed within 12 squares. This ability ignores abilities that ignore abilities that suppress commander effects

A piece like you're talking about will always have the side-effect of seriously hurting the Mandalorian faction, which has for a long time relied on Twin. We saw that after the Czerka tech came out.

This ability ignores abilities that ignore abilities that suppress commander effects Bastilla was actually the Cause of abilities like hand signals and Squad Discipline. I do not think however that The Padawan Commander was intended to help out the Naboo. More intended to help out OR troop Squads, and Clone squads. I Do have to agree with you however on one point, we do not need a counter on top of a counter. There has to be a line with abilities like this. We don't need 10 ply counters to abilities. This type of build up is bad for the game also.

Back on topic. I don't think the Naboo are that bad honestly. I personally dont mind the Death Shot Mechanic. There are ways around it in tactics. Even If you Cannot Disrupt them i dont see it as that big of an issue. Now if anything were changed to Panaka, i think having him lose Rapport, and possibly making his CE range 6 would help. Yes i know that they have access to mas, but at least that way it can be stopped by locking him in a room.
