We had lots of good answers yesterday, so let's do another one: On the SWM Facebook group recently, it was noted that: Quote:I always stomp him into the ground when i play vset mace r2 v set zam and vset boba fett. I have no idea what's in the rest of the squad - those four leave room for another 32 points, so nothing major I guess: Mace Legacy of the Light Side 65 R2 Astromech Droid 9 Zam Wesell, Bounty Hunter 44 Boba Fett Assassin for Hire 50 Can you build a squad that can beat or hold its own against this squad? It'd be great to see as many different factions represented as possible, and it'd be better to see well rounded squads that can beat other things rather than just hate squads.

I think something like this should be able to deal with it relatively easily: Quote:--Cad Bane + Arica Swap-- 54 Cad Bane 32 Thrawn (Mitth'raw'nuruodo) 31 Arica 27 Lobot 13 Amanin Scout 11 Admiral Ozzel 8 Mas Amedda 6 Mouse Droid x2 9 Rodian Brute x3 9 Ugnaught Demolitionist x3
(200pts. 15 activations)

Hilariously enough, i think Vader of Lothal and 100point Sidious is what's called for here.
However i put this together as well, i think it could do it, but it would be a tough fight.
--The Old Council-- 44 Yaddle, Jedi Master 32 Kit Fisto 29 Agen Kolar 26 Saesee Tiin 23 Captain Panaka 21 The Dark Woman 9 R2-D2, Astromech Droid 8 Mas Amedda 5 Rodian Diplomat 3 Rodian Brute
(200pts. 10 activations)
Yaddle gives everyone shien, so there will be a lot of dice rolls when the shooting starts, but i think Shien is a solid defensive option, R2 for door control plus the tow, diplomat for gambit. Panaka swap (he could be replaced, my choice would be Coleman Trebor and some fodder). I think this squad could do it.
In my experience Boba AFH is great, but if you can close the gap you can really hurt him.

Just so you know, I have actually played the squad that we are trying to beat a few times, and I would say that for the last 32 points I play Panaka and Mas. Playing Melee with Shien forces the shooters in close, but then of course Mace still dominates any one of those CS Jedi even with Yaddles help. VoL and Sidious is definitely good; auto-damage is a huge hit against these guys especially with Vader with Shien to draw the shooters close. Unfortunately the Vader with No Disintegrations isn't even a better option than VoL as a direct Mace counter because he's way to weak against the shooters. Something like this would be the best IMO for a mix of shooter hate and auto-damage. Probably loses if they have Marn in there, though. 100 Darth Sidious, Sith Mastermind 35 Darth Vader of Lothal 29 Wrenga "Jix" Jixton 17 Nightsister Sith Witch x2

The squad's main weakness is to tech. It is low activation (how much depends on how you use the last 32 points), and none of the pieces are particularly survivable once you close in on them. Normally successful low activation squads consist of tough pieces - think Sith or GOWK. It does have three diverse threats though, so I can see how it would cause some squads problems.

I chose that one, because yours has the Gha Nachkt/Mouse Droid mechanism, which is no longer legal.

That's pretty funny. Pre-dates Stealth N' Blue by 4 months. And is now the superior version due to the floor rules change so Rapport can't make Mice cost less than 3.
All hail Ukezwoll - squadbuilder ahead of his time!

All hail Ukezwoll - squadbuilder ahead of his time! Nah, I won a regional with it before his was created, I just tinkered with and it shows the later date. The last few tech pieces are irrelevant. The core concept stays the same. (this squad built in 2009 gives credit to my squad: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/31235/shooters-paradise--variant-of-timmerb123s--stealth-n-blue-and-pellaeon-too---)

Galaxy at War didn't come out until October 2009 - so Ukezwoll must have been onto it pretty early as it looks like it pre-dates the 2010 regional season.

Maybe you two are right. I know I built and deleted several until I had the one I liked.
I won multiple regionals with variants of this. I honestly don't know when the first one was.
Regardless, I had seen Thrawn swap with Cad, but never with Cad and Arica before I built mine.
I think it's safe to say I was the most successful with it. ;)

It doesn't take anything away from you that you bedecked Ukezwoll. You're the one who won with it. 😃

Stupid autocorrect. Beresford. I mean never met. I mean netdecked. Netdecked... copying someone else's deck/squad. Just giving you a hard time.

I thought it meant bed-decked. In my mind it meant dreaming up something in your head and it just happens to be something somebody else already came up with. Unintentional copy. Lol That's it, I'm making it a term now. I guess I did Bed-Deck it.

There must be other builds out there that can beat the Boba/Mace/Zam squad reliably. Sturdy Sith?

Vong beats the snot out of it. All in on Blast-bugs (PV Scouts), Lah Warriors, or hybrid. Spitting Nom Bombs too.
Again - light on tech, so anything with decent tech should smoke it.
Kill R2, shoot some, lock a door, rinse and repeat.
Most Luke and Leia on Speeder builds, many other Swapping Republic builds, direct damage squads, heck even a lancer smokes this squad.
Really Mace/Zam/Boba is not a great team.

I think it's safe to say I was the most successful with it. ;) +1. You are the master of Stealth N'Blue, my friend. Tooting my own horn, I beat you in GenCon Champs when you played that squad and I played my Bastila squad in either 2012 or 2013; http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/118774/aces-are-wildStill love your squad though Tim! You'd probably beat me in a rematch. My dice rolling on evades was sick that day.............remember the gold/black dice that peops hated
