Never will and never intend to. Don't got the funds and don't really have a desire to collect. Just sticking with 1 or 2 factions is enough for me.

When I first started collecting SWM, I knew I would have to limit myself to certain factions. Mostly due to cost, but also to keep it more fun for myself. If I only could play certain characters in certain factions, going up against the factions I didn't have was a lot more fun.
I limited myself to the Episodes 1-3 era: Seps & Reps...plus Fringe of course. I picked up Sith, then Mandos, then Vong, then OR. I then dumped most of my Sith and OR due to money issues. I have a smattering of NR, Rebel, Empire, Sith and OR left. Mostly just the core pieces for squad building.
So I don't see myself ever collecting them all. Besides, if I want to play with ALL the minis, I'll jump on Vassal. ;)

I was bitten by the collector bug not long after my son got me into the game. I have all the pieces except most of R&I (don't care) and many of the older promos. I'm still trying to obtain some additional non-unique figs, but for all practical purposes I am done, other than completing any new sets which is SO much easier than it used to be with the 60pc sets.

I picked yes with everything....but I am about 5-6 promos short, and to be honest, I am not chasing the promos since they are duplicates of other figs....Easy to get them all when you have been in the game as long as me....

i have all from all sets apart from R.I. obcessively compulsively addicted to plasticrack, i have 2 little boys and i cant wait until they can understand the dynamics, i have to smuggle them in the house tho as my wife doesnt understand.

There are a few obstacles to me having complete sets.
TFU: I just can't justify paying that much for Revan. Sorry, I am not paying anywhere near that for a mediocre mini of a character I don't even like.
KOTOR: Yeah, don't play Mandos, so the Ultimate is not worth it to me.
Other than that, I have complete sets of RS-BH, CW, and JA. I am slowly working to finish of IE and A&E. Not sure if I want to finish Legacy, since I don't really need Mandos, but that is a cool Fett.

I will never get anywhere near getting close to almost having half of the minis! I have 137 different minis ( 192 total), so I'm only about 15% complete. My collection, by faction, is as following:
Old Republic (3/26); 4 total
Sith (3/37); 3 total
Mandalorians (6/19); 6 total
Republic (8/147); 10 total
Separatists (8/97); 25 total
Rebel (51/135); 67 total
Imperial (19/137); 20 total
New Republic (4/30); 5 total
Yuuzhan Vong (3/14); 3 total
Fringe (32/233); 49 total
As you can probably tell, I mainly collect Rebels XD

I don't think I'll ever collect a set just for the sake of completion. I've limited myself to factions that I know I'll use. It doesn't make sense for me to collect every single mini if I won't run them in a squad in the first place.
The only faction I've gone out of my way to complete was the Yuuzhan Vong faction and as it is I'm the only Vong player in my area.

I have all the base sets in full. There was atiem when I almsot had all the promo league fig's too, but haven't gotten back into those, no money, and too much work to find them all again.
But otherwise I'm a total set completionist.

I typically buy a case from Coolstuffinc.com as each set releases, then buy the last 8 to 12 I need on Ebay. By the end of each set I spend about $200 and end up with every piece, so it's not too bad. My only overall complaint is that despite having every piece, there are less than half that actually get used. I play sealed box games when each set comes out, but then soon after a majority of them get stored away while the pieces that get used more often are readily available.
