hey yall

wondering what you thought was the WORST unique of the year (2009)...

PLEASE READ THE EXPLANATIONS OF THE CHOICES BELOW:

C-3P0, Ewok Deity: Admit it. We ALL know that this fig will never be used in competitions...sure, has "unique" stats, but Speed 0 really kills. He needs ALWAYS at LEAST 27 points of support to make him playable.

Odd Ball: Ok stats, ok CE...except Pentration 20 will probably never be usuable.

Barriss Offee, Jedi Knight: She makes a nice healer, but too expensive for my taste. If you want to take full use of her, you must spend ANOTHER 40 points to make a very good team. That's 70 points already! If she gets based say goodbye to her...

Moff Jerjerrod
: No clue why WotC made this character. His Rapport/CE is useless in my eyes, as combining fire with +4 instead of +6 usually doesn't make a difference. Death Star troopers will sadly never be used still...

Logray, Ewok Shaman
: For all those ewok collectors out there, you'll probably support this character. But for the REST of us, he probably won't be used often. Opportunist and Corruption 1 is a cool combo, but 30 HP won't make him last long.

Captain Mar Tuuk: A tempo control fig given to a Faction who doesn't need it...(Seps already have San Hill!). Waste of a VR in my eyes.

Asajj Ventress, Strike Leader: 2 Asajj's in 1 year?! And the assassin one was MUCH better! If only her CE affected droids...also, 57 points is really expensive, ESPECIALLY if you're going to make a droid army which is the Sep's strongest point.

Nadhar Vebb: Another waste of a VR. Force 2?! No renewal?! I expected him to be worth maybe about 25 points, with maybe more force and a bit more upgraded stats.

Hondo Ohnaka: ATM, he's too expensive (Thanks to his CE)...his CE is awesome, but of the only 2 pirates ever made, 1 already has Accurate and the other is not worth playing.

so what do you guys think?! personally, i like C-3P0...im voting for nadhar...itd be a NIGHTMARE if i pull him in a pack...

thoughts? plz get ur votes in, this poll only lasts 2 weeks!!! :)

thx yall in advance :) BlooMilk

mar tuuk has his uses in my eyes because you can then activate 3 in a turn. my vote is for Nadhar. He was too much of a let down. i agree that he should probubly have renewal and a little better force power, but i did pull him in my case and wasnt too happ. i wanted cad bane instead

What he said. I guess Mar Tuuk get my vote as he was vastly different from what I was expecting and not all that innovative (imho)

Barriss was designed to be used with Luminara. Hence her seemingly high cost. You team those two together and you already have a solid start for a squad. They are that good together.

As for a 2009 miniature, my vote went for Asajj Strike Leader. Not only is she inferior to Assassin Asajj, but her sculpt is horrendous. She also has a rather poor CE IMO. Any CE that involves crits isn't popular with me. You can't plan for crits.

I was tempted to vote for C-3PO. I expected so much more from the piece. Such a huge letdown. I'm a big Ewok fan and was hoping for a CE or SA to help them. Instead, Ewok Deity does nothing for them. All he does is count as an Ewok for Swarm purposes. That's pathetic. However, he didn't get my vote. He has an iconic pose that I love. Whenever I see the mini, I instantly think of the Ewok Village from RotJ.

Not sure why Honda Ohnaka is on the list. I may hate his CE, but he does have his uses in a Rebel squad. He's a great compliment to Han Smuggler or Dash RS. Of course I still wish he was a follower. That CE holds him back. Still, he's has a place in this game.

As for Logray, I love the little guy. He works great in a Rebel or NR squad. Force Corruption can really slow down the opposition. Plus I do expect an Ewok exclusive CE down the line. When that comes up, you can be sure Logray gains more value. He's already an underrated piece.

Moff Jerjerrod actually comes in second in my voting behind Asajj. He doesn't have many redeeming qualities. Combine Fire is not as valuable as it used to be. His Rapport is interesting, but hardly game changing. Death Star characters are mediocre at best (the Gunner is probably the best). I also hate his pose. Taken right from the FU's Star Destroyer Officer. No originality whatsoever. The worst part is I had been waiting for this character. Huge letdown. I had been hoping for a Reinforcements or fun Reserves piece (based on his "We Shall Double our Efforts" comment). At least a SA that doubles the attack of Trooper followers.

My vote goes to C-3PO just because of his complete uselessness.

And I must ask the question of: How is Nahdar a letdown? He's pretty much what I would expect him to be: a weak Jedi. His force rating and force powers are about all he should have. Why would he have force renewal or any better/more force powers? Only powerful characters should have force renewal. He was weak in the episode, so why should his mini be any better?

I am very curious as to why Bariss is on here but Gha Nachkt is not.
Barris is a fairly good piece. Gha Nachkt is a fat piece of garbage that I pulled too many of.

Gha Nachkt can be a very useful piece, but only in certain squads. The biggest problem with "worst mini" lists IMO is that, if you actually try to, you can usually find a niche for the pieces (however small they might be). So none of the pieces are really "useless", just less useable.

C3PO needs 11 points of support. Rebel troop cart. End of story.

Edit: in addition to all the reasons that I was wrong about this listed below, the troop cart's also 15 points. It just keeps getting better.

He can't get into the Rebel Toop Cart, as he cannot move. He had a speed of 0, making it impossible to actually forfill the requirements of entering the cart. He is probably the worst due to the fact you can do so little with him, and requires at least Commando Luke to move him, which really makes him half of Lukes cost added ontop of his. Least Mar Tuuk actually allows you to activate more when nessiary. Lol.

Personally, He is the worst for me as I already have a good meat sheild. Often Obi or Jar Jar. Rebels are cheap costing enough that a dead figure often makes little difference to the rest of the squad. Unless it's something like snowspeeder.

Not fond of Nadhar Vebb. I think half the problem is that he's a very rare, and that Akosha directly competes with him, having great stats and a commander effect for a small number of points more makes him look horrid in comperson to her. If he was not very rare, I would imagine not that many people would be as bothered about him. As a rare he would just be fine, a small Jedi if you somehow could not afford Akosha or Lando for whatever reason.

Moff Jarard is definately tied or second place with CP3-0. He just offers nothing at all. Ventress being in third simply because I hate her. She's not that good at being a melee charcter and I just personally hate her, beyond how much I hate a figure. I gave her away, thats how much unluckyness she brought me.

Of the minis on the list, I voted for the Moff, who is totally useless.

However, I think Rieekan is hands down the worst mini of '09.

Voted for the Moff. Not very useful CE and the pose (as already noted) is too much like the generic officer - which I would take over him in a heartbeat. Not really sure what he is supposed to do except maybe in a scenario on the Death Star with his rapport. Not even that tempting for me in scenarios since he is so hard to tell apart from the other officer.

C-3PO is not very good for standard skirmish play, but great for scenarios and collectors. I did not choose him, because I think he fits this niche better than many other pieces. Love the pose.

The others are all support pieces at best which is the role they fill, so not really the worst in my eyes. Odd Ball comes close as he is very limited in when/how he could be useful. Might as well just use the Clone Pilot piece.

I can't believe that Nahdar has gotten so many votes. I think the issue here is that people are voting what they WANTED for the VR fig, rather than what the fig actually is. For his cost, Nahdar is not a bad figure at all. Force Push 1 is probably one of the best force powers because it is cheap and doesn't appear to increase figure cost much. Doing ten auto damage in this game is a big deal, and if you only have to spend 17 to get it, you're in good shape.

C3PO without a doubt. Moff would be a close second.

jerjerod for me, one because i pulled him in the i.e. sealed (leia bounty hunter to go with him oh joy ThumbDown ) and i got destroyed. oddball at least has synergy with dash, 3po ewok deity probably is the worst, though id rather pull him from a pack than jerjerod as he's at least very rare. nahdar i dont complain about, lets say he's a rare, and lets say flobi takes his place as the vr, this means your more likely to get nahdar and less likely to get flobi

Ewok Deity. At least until there are more ways to relocate him...

Everyone seems to despise Moff. Ignoring his Rapport for Death Star figs, I really don't see him as being useless. Ugly, yes. Super-competitve, of course not.

He has access to Thrawn, Mas, and super-stealth spotters via Nyna... I'd take him over messing with Mar Tuuk. Then again, I'm not that good Wink

We already stated the reason behind dispising the Moff, the units he gives rapport to is subpar, and his commander effect is subpar. Plus theres nothing unique about his appearance. At least we will remember Ewok Deity, be it with terror or a collectors piece. Same can't be said for him.

Odd Balls more useful, and Mar Tuuk can be fairly decent provided cover can be granted for him. San Hill is better, but granting 1 to 3 activations is not that terrible, considering he costs so little, another Vebb syndrom, he's just being compared to figures we know are head and shoulders above everything else rather then his own merits. Heh.

Elphant Mon or whatever his name is much worse then most of the stuff here. XD

Am I the only one that regularly combines fire?
use Moff w/ baron fel for a total of extra +10 to hit, great with swarm squads
with all the CE for the Empire you can have some lil' dude blast a Krayt dragon in two

the sculpt is lame, we call him officer proud pants (look at the fig.)
