Just want to know what everyone here considers their most embarrassing moment, worst mistake, biggest defeat, etc.

Mine was today. I've only actually played 2 matches up this this point in the week or two I've been doing this, but today's failure for me was pretty epic, lol.

We were playing a 100-point match. My opponent had Captain Rex 501st and Clone Troopers, and I ran Republic with Kazdan Paratus. The only reason I used him was because of the Droid Reserves. And guess what. Even though I hit the Droid Reserves THREE TIMES (for 90 points worth of droids), I lost. I was too timid with my melee pieces and they got carved up by Rex's boosted troopers.

Now, I know I'm new, but knowing that I was just really stupid makes me feel really bad about losing. Luckily it was just a match with a friend. Still! Sad

These things happen. I once ran a Kazdan/Rebel team against Vong. It came down to enraged Chewie minus a couple HP vs. a half health Nom Anor. I missed every shot, it was annoying.

Another time, I ran NR against Superstealth We ran out of time with my Han, GH adjacent to GA Thrawn and Nyna. It was a tie because i had gotten 5 gambit points, so it came down to who was closer to the gambit square. I kid you not he was one square closer. One more round and either Nyna or Thrawn was dead, but(shrug), whatcha gonna do

I once advised my brother to move his UH Thrawn within 6 of an AT-ST so it could have a better chance of hitting Boba BH. He hit both shots with high enough rolls that thrawn wasn't necessary, Boba evaded them both, and Boba disintegrated full health Thrawn.

At an Owensboro match I was playing Mandalorians against Yoda and Boba BH. We were on the Hoth map. This was the first time I played on the map. I messed up bad on my setup. My opponent's opening move was to lightsaber throw with Yoda that took out both my Uggie Demos and 2 of my 3 mouse droids. His next activation was to use Boba BH to hit my Boba for some massive damage. I ended up losing because he was able to lock himself into gambit. It was an epic loss for the day.

In my very first Star Wars Minis match, I fielded a Republic Commando squad versus my friend's Imperial B&B squad. It was my friend's first game, too. We were both just getting into position to initiate a fire fight, when Vader struck. He was using Vader, Imperial Commander, and unfortunately, I didn't realize one of his abilities was Lightsaber Sweep. Needless to say, he swapped Vader at the end of the round, ran him in the middle of a bunch of commandos, and proceeded to Sweep the entire lot. Next round he went first and performed Lightsaber Sweep again. I missed almost every Shield roll and lost half my army. I was only able to mount a token resistance after that. It was embarrassing.

The take home message:
1. Respect Master Tactician + swap + Opportunist
2. Make sure you know what special abilities and Force abilities your enemies have!!!

The two embarassing moment I had were playing some fun matchups against a cousin. I was using only one piece against her rag tag 100 point squad. In each game I was doing very well until I ran into her final pieces. One time it was my relatively healthy Boba BH against here Depa who I'd been trying to shoot all game; for whatever reason she managed to lay down a few criticals on Boba in rapid succession while Boba couldn't hit her to finish off her last hitpoints. The other failure with General Windu against a Vornskr; that rodent got in one hit and then not only couldn't the General make a Paralysis save (with a Force Points as well) he proceeded to miss the posion save and then lose initiative tice to see the whole process repeated.

When I read the thread title I had to laugh. My most embarrassing moment was at the end of my first tournament after I played the last game to place second. I stood up and shook my opponent's hand and congratulated him on a very good match. As I was speaking the chilly I had for lunch got the best of me and I accidentally let one rip... loud and foul. The Judge that was standing behind me waiting to hand out prizes gaged and had to walk a way Blushing. I wanted to disappear Sad.

Not really had one yet to be honest. The most embrashing matches for my oppoment was senate commandos, vs Luke GM and Laia, that was a painful match to watch for both involed as Luke got pulled to pieces. Heh

There was one match where nothing died on my team and I destoryed the entire of the oppoments team, it was that lopsided. ><; And now I am sort of stuff with Commandos with Flight Obi till the end of the tourney.

Though, had one humourous standoff with a Apprentice unleashed, a senate commando and Jetpack Obi with a door between us. It basically resulted in the commando and Obi just standing infront of the door for 2 turns, basically waiting to go first so that Obi can open the door and let the commando rip with triple twin. It was just a very funny throught that after a breif fight to get there, all 3 of them were just waiting 20 seconds in real time for someone to open the door. XD

Mine was just last week. i was playing a cad superstealth squad. i got to a spot where I could see their captain rex as soon as I saw it I took the shots. My rolls were great the best I had that night( because cad couldn't hit the broad side of a barn that night). I forgot what the rools were except one, the first, a crit. after rex was gone I was soo relieved. But then i realized something. there was a door between rex and cad and it was closed. Let's see...

Worst was setting up my whole squad inside the room on the (generally) preferred side of Rancor Pit. First turn Artoo tows a guy out. Opponent's first turn Artoo dies and door gets locked. Good game!

Also ridiculous was running a Yoda/Master Kota swap, swapping in Kota adjacent to Leia Skywalker, and getting his FORCE EXPLOSION canceled by Ms. Organa-Skywalker-Solo. All on its own that wouldn't be so bad, but the turn before my opponent activated Leia, added the Force point to the card, erased both that she had, announced "lightsaber throwing against Yobuck," then quickly said "Uhhh actually never mind I'll just attack regularly." "I see what you're doing," says I. Sadly remembering it for like 6 minutes turned out to be too difficult. Worse was that Dash had 20 health and was four squares away, so I could have just knocked him out instead of being a dope.

Probably the most embarrassing for an opponent would be the gentleman who moved Galactic Han over to gank Admiral Ozzel on the Hoth map (where I set up very very poorly). Han then got shot eight times by two very upset Twi'lek Black Sun vigos and died ignominiously.

Probably the most embarrassing that I was present for was someone losing a GOWK versus GOWK matchup when he used up all of his Force points on myriad things and got Force Pushed by the other GOWK into a pit. Failed the save, no Force, really dead GOWK. Doh!

Cad Bane from the sound of it. We still need to put a stop to people just calling him Bane, lol. LoboStele made a plea to the COMmunity awhile ago that went unnoticed, so people still refer to him as both Cad and Bane and occasionally Cade (yep, that's fun) which confuses...

My most embarrassing moment was throwing my dice at a tournament when I lost to small child (13ish). It wasn't that I lost that made me angry it was that I couldn't roll higher than a 3 in two rounds. Frustration kind of set me off.
