I have to say Republic based on the clones. Plus they get more attention than any other faction in each set.

Mandalorians are on of the best if properly played. The cheapest, lowest guy for them is the Elites of other groups. The only problem they have is the lack of faction versatility that the more numerous factions have as well as the developers not really giving a blasted on what would actually be used (staring at the Deathwatch Raider).

Rebels: They have just about everything covered, and seem to be the easiest to build with.

I voted for Republic because of the variety of shooters and melee pieces in the faction, plus the power of Mas Amedda expands the value of commander effects. I would say Imperial is a close second with Rebel and New Republic coming next. I play Seps from time to time, but I get bored with it b/c it seems less versatile then the other factions.

Rebels have cheap, good shooters, nice CE's, plenty of door control, plenty of disruptive, and plenty of activation control.

Republic. They started with useful if not good CEs. You also have the existence of Mas Amedda, who is used also by some Imperial squads but is still Republic. Plus you have the multitude of clones and their corresponding SAs and CEs. There're a lot of possibilities with Republic pieces.

I loved playing Seps even before GGDAC and Lancer - they were always the tough faction to play and build squads around but always satisfying when you win with them.

Granted, I just started playing, but with the pieces I have, Republic has led to more success. Commander Effects seem to be more far-reaching amongst clones, and I just have a simpler time building at all 3 standard point levels with that faction.

I voted Imperial for one reason main reason. VADER! I enjoy classic trilogy era more than the new movies, so that certainly helps. I have to admit that I haven't played much, but my next squad will likely be Imperial with one of my 3 newly acquired Vaders (plus Galen). I'm sure most of you could beat with the worst faction in the game, but that doesn't mean I can't like Imperial the best.

The Rebels are hands down the best faction at the moment.
The main reason is their ridiculous advantage in CEs/tech.
Commanders: General Rieekan -Evade/Mobile for allies, rangeless, and only 14pts (General Wedge has a lesser version of this CE for 23 points!) General Dodonna -The ultimate tempo control piece. CHOOSE to activate 1 or 2 each phase for only 9pts. Princess Leia -Extra attack with huge bonus for only 20pts Bothan Noble -Extra attack to ANY follower, just 17pts General Crix Madine -massive attack/damage bonus for commandos for just 16pts
Tech: R2-D2 -Override, 8pts R2-D2 with Extended Sensor -Override, Recon, It's a Trap, 9pts R2-D2 and C-3PO -Override, Draw Fire and Disruptive, just 18pts K-3PO -Swapping, 20pts Elite Rebel Commando -Override, 16pts 2-1B -Heal 30, 17pts Deena Shan - Disruptive, 12pts Juno Eclipse -Disruptive, Accurate, 8pts Yoda of Dagobah -Force Battery Obi-Wan Kenobi -Force Battery Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Spirit -Force Battery
That's just a few, and does'nt even take into account all the great Lukes and Hans out there, or the rebel's terrific interaction with fringe pieces. It's no contest really.

Thank you, I had not even taken into account the mobile push battery squads. Their only weakness is Vong, and people are too afraid to run them, for fear of getting mauled by shooters. The Rebels are cost effective, good, and have alot of everything

I find the question nearly impossible to answer adequately. At 200pts, all of the factions compete well in a general level of competition. An answer to "which is best" for me would only be able to be given based on which faction has the most competitive options, which isn't really an answer. So instead I will post this comment and not vote :)

Rebales are great with Reikann, But Republic squads with clones are Awesome. I like Rep commandoes with the trainer and Clone strike Yoda who gives them reroll on the shield saves. Probably not the best but tough and fun. Rex is a beast also... A BEast
