I've seen a lot of hatin' on Dark times. I can understand that some are upset that there are only 6 generally recognizable uniques. But I have also heard the stats are boring. I don't understand that. The BH weapons, Turn to the dark side, the risky Force powers, Jedi Bodyguard, a couple trandos that can actually use their Regeneration, just to name a few. The most boring piece in the set IMO is Kir Kanos. I could go through at least 30 of the pieces and state something about each one that is a big departure from anything previously done. Why is there so much feeling that it's boring? No Double/twin/GMA characters?

Having played sealed with it, it's a great set. Might be the best sealed set to date and the new abilities were an absolute blast. Report is up on Gamers.

All I will say is I went 4-0 with Dengar, who had at least 3 final shot kills in each of my games :)

I don't get it either-
really diffrent stuff-
maybe that's it- change is scarry and therefor 'Bad'

Bill:
I'm not convinced about the sealed aspect
the 2 prior sets set new standards for me in that regard
but our Proxy game last week @ ACME was by all accounts a great time

Aye, I can't think why anyone would think it's a bad set. The only reason I could come up with is that you need a fair amount of support from previous sets to make some of the stuff really work, but aside from that it's pretty incredable. Even the Enginneers are either fun or have a secondary role in repairing stuff.

The bounty hunters are the main attaction for me though, most of them look really flavourful charcters. ^__^

Sounds great, i'm really looking forward to playing a sealed tournament next month. I think the set as a whole looks pretty interesting. The new abilities and force powers bring some variety to the game, and i can't wait to try some of them.

I actually think Dark Times is one of the better sets yet. And I hope future sets will be similar ind esign to this one. As of now, I think we have enough pieces with GMA/Double/Twin, and not seeing it in this set is a relief.

Im a big fan of this set, and to hear that Dengar did well makes me very happy, because his "final shot" will win quite a few games.
I like the brief play report with him.
The BHs are the biggest attraction to me as well, especially Zuckus (Who knew?).

Yeah man. This set is nice in my opinion. I haven't been this excited for a set since Kotor. Maybe Jedi academy. I love the new abilities.

I really like this set, it's different. There are a ton of much needed rpg pieces as well as several fun new gimmick pieces for squads. This is a breath of fresh air after a very uninspired GaW set.

Uninspired indeed. Not many Block buster minis in that set, minus R7s, GenSky, Flobi, Whorm and Yularen, the R7, to me, being the best grab in the set.

Honestly, is overestimated, just like Boba, BH.

Anyway, just read the Mini-FAQ. And Snare Rifle is a lot, lot more powerful than I imagined.

Wow, I am forgetting Cad, thanks. No Bloo Milk
As of right now though with Cad, he is the Worst 30$ I have spent on a single mini.
Its not because hes bad, its because he hasn't brought me anything higher then a 3 when I roll his attacks, and without Accurate shot (I can't bring myself to spend another 40 points on Prince Xizor), I find myself wasting him on Uggies and general Fodder.

Why would Cad make a set great???

What is new on him? He is just a plug and play shooter. Stick him in any squad previously that had Boba Merc or Boba BH. That is nothing exceptional about him. He is just rehashed power creep shooter.

This provides game players with 16 new force powers and abilities.... that is something worth being happy about from a game play stand point.

Snare Rifle is awesome. (especially on AoOs)
Also of super note is the new Veers' CE that allows character to "duck for cover" after a missed shot. That helps against those quad shooters (if they miss). Too bad it only works for non-uniques. (might keep Uggies alive tho)

I was gonna say the same thing, but I think Joverfield thought that person was forgetting cad from a power level, not creativity. Of course, that depends on Joverfield's interpretation of "Blockbuster." I think he is good, like I think joverfield was saying (I hate him+ IE Thrawn almost as much as I hate Yobuck/AniSTAP swap), but I don't think he is creative at all, and I don't think jove was saying that either.
