I was looking up the map list for Restricted game types, and I realized I don't have any of those maps and I have little idea where to get them at a reasonable price. Half of them seem to come from the Attack on Endor pack which I have yet to buy but will shortly. The other half seem more difficult to obtain.
Anyone have suggestions on how to get good maps to use at Regionals and beyond?

I have a tough time believing that the 07 starter (the one with Obi and Vader) is that difficult to find.

Where would one find that one? As well as the Clone Strike starter Grand Plaza map? I think it's good for people to know where to get the maps that have to be used at regionals, and if I have questions about where to locate them I'm sure some others may too.

Ted, if it is the regional that you're worried about I will be bringing every map on that list. If there is one in particular that you will want to use, I will reserve it for you. If you go to GenCon, you can get that Endor pack pretty cheap. (Last year was my first year but everyone says that there are tons of them every year.) If you don't go, then I'll be glad to pick one up for you.

I just haven't heard anybody really address the issue where new or small collection players may get the required maps as the list is relatively short. But thanks for looking out for me. It's appreciated.

Let me address this since it really is my can of corn.
The restrictive map list is relatively easy to get most of the maps.
You can pick up a Attack on Endor pack for around $5 if you look carefully
The 2007 starter is easy.
As far as Bespin. Bespin is relatively easy to locate the problem is the missing yellow lines for the difficult terrain on the stairs.
Here is my suggestion to you. I will be relaying this to all Regional and Gencon judges also. If you get a hold of a Bespin map and it is not the legal version. Get some thin yellow tape. Place the yellow lines where they go yourself. That will meet the requirements for the map use. I realize that map is hard to find in the legal form. So that is why making your map legal will be an option.

That is a topic that has been tossed around quite a bit. Dean even went as far as to say on his show that we should buy up all of those packs at GenCon and give them to new players so that more players have access to good maps. I think it is a problem that will lessen somewhat after August when all of the non-WOTC maps that Kris and Matt have made will be scrutinized for tournament use. You are right that, for now, it's an issue. Congratulations for Saturday by the way. (Edit) LOL...Dean beat me by 18 seconds!

The Grand Plaza map was re-released when Clone Wars came out as a promo (or League Kit?) item on the back side of a poster. I would think there should be some of those floating around still. (I just happen to have some extras )I was lucky to get a Bespin map (the legal one) that my LGS owner came up with somehow. Since Dean says they are obtainable, I would be curious to find out where as I'm sure most of the younger players in my group need one.

You can find it for around $5. Again I want to emphasize that if you get some thin yellow tape and put the rough terrain lines on a non legal map it would in fact then be legal to play.

Dean, Sorry for my poorly worded post - I meant ANY version of the Bespin map, since as you have noted, they can be fixed up for DCI with minor effort. So best to look on E-bay then, I presume.

if you will check amazon.com you will find them under rebel storm ultimate missions.
Look under used. These books there are not used just a closeout from a book distributor. I have generally found them around $5

Just ordered one from the used section that says it's new and never touched for .94 cents. It's worth it to find out, since i ordered the new punisher tpb at the same time.
