Yet another poll...
I just want to see what the census is for how everyone is going to continue to play this game. I for one will continue to play and will probably use house rules when not playing DCI. I will also check out the V-sets being created by Gamers to see how well they work with the rest of the characters and game. BlooMilk

Please do not bash other players for how they will play the game and keep your posts directed to me and the subject of this thread.

Note: this is NOT to discuss the V-sets being created by Gamers, but rather to see if you would use them or not. If you would like to discuss them specifically, there are other threads for that.

Hey huk Smile , well I voted "as-is" with special/house rules (non-DCI). Mostly because that's how we play at home. We like the Ultimate Mission's guidelines, with some added house rule's. ThumbsUp I'll check out the V-set's as well, for the same reason you stated.

Will continue to play with all options on the table. There are countless combos and themes I have not yet tried. Scenerio play is a pleasant break from intense competitive play. Going the custom route is inticing as I have gotten into that somewhat. I am also very interested in the V-sets as I think they will give me a chance to use figs I have never used before. In short, the sun has not set on my minis enthusiasm whatsoever, but my second child being born in a few months mightWink

As is, with limited house rules. Lots of scenarios and dynamic duo (smaller squads keep the younger ones interested). Basically the same way I play now. Won't use the new V-sets, just not interested.

I'll definitely take a look at the V-Set stuff when it comes out, and remain optimistic about it, but I'll likely just continue as-is with some house rules for fun.

Other. I will play as-is until I see what happens with the V-sets. Then I will decide whether or not to acknowledge their existence.

Well, my two cents.

I will play this game until I die (which according to the death clock is 2052, March 17). I intend to be challenging other dottery old fools to play SWM when I am in a home of some kind. I will likely forget the names and face of all I love, yet retain the ability to recall the defense rating of Bib Fortuna (which, I believe, is 23).

As far as how I go on within the game, Vsets. Vsets. I'm dam keen. Especially if somewhere before 2052 we get an uber-Rebel Luke... but even if we don't, I'm a fan of the SWMgamers folk and the stuff they're doing. Love their work! Can only be good. House rules pop up for various games all the time... Royal Rumble matches, Bullrush, Capture the Flag... Critical Hits on anything but a 2... y'know, but when we Tournament (which we do in a realtively bizzarre fashion being 3000Km away in New Zealand), we DCI it. Well, we have our own points system and only one of us actually has a DCI card... but we go legit!

May the Sauce be with you all.

Don't have much choice, since most of those I play with will be heavily involved in the process.
I have been dealing with V cards for eight years with Swccg, so I am really excited.

I like "with all options on the table" - BlooMilk wampafang

The more choices, the better. We have been taking a break from playing DCI at my LGS and have been having a really great time. Just barely scratching the surface with alternate formats and such.

The V-sets will provide another interesting option if they are done well, and I expect they will be quite good.

It's all cool, until I have a clear reason to feel otherwise.

I've been having fun sitting down with two pre-made squads that follow a theme and are somewhat balanced. We play it out and see what happens. Still follow most all the DCI rules, except Gambit since we don't have a time crunch and can play kill them all. That and some scenarios or booster pull games - so "as is with house rules" for now. So many options I still want to explore before getting back to competitive tourneys. Just having fun playing SW again like when I was a boy 30+ years ago. Holochess is great fun, too as a branch of the SWM full game.

What helps make the game so lasting and appealing is all the options that can fit for all the different play styles and needs.

I have mixed feelings and feel in limbo right now. It really all depends on my LGS. I'm not personally very excited about the v-sets. From a collectors point of view they add nothing for me. From a competitve point of view I guess I have to wait and see. I'm concerned there is going to be a change in the average piece since it seems the basic plan is take pieces rarely played and make them better to make them playable. That to me sounds like those pieces that are considered good are going to be averaged by those pieces being made better. I'm not sure if that makes sense how I explained it but I guess it's just a waiting game now to see the direction of how competitive play goes. I'm just fine playing for fun with the local group so as long as they keep things going I will most likely be there.

Well, any option that gets me know characters with no dollars down save some printing makes my wife much happier about my little obsession...

When I told the wife Wizos was done with minis she smiled and did a dance.

I'll be going the way of the V-sets likely, assuming they're free to download. Its just a handful of players here and we're pretty content with what we have.

Interesting option.

When I get my camera I will bestow some sheer might. I'm building a rebel star fighter construction facility with busted up pieces and I'm buying an old rebel transport from the 1980's and gonna give it decks and stuff so that the imperial player has the option of taking the vessel over after its landed re-enforcements for use in the further campaigns. Its is seriously killing me that i don't have a camera to take photos of this yet. Its pretty close to being completed.

I'll definitely be following the V-sets. Whether they will see much use though is another question. I am looking forward to having time to catch up on collecting minis and not having to worry about new sets coming out. My mini spending will drop a bit, probably one order per month. After I feel confortable with the existing minis I will start looking more into the V-sets, unless there are any that blow my mind, inwhich case I will use them.
