You'll want to look at the use of cheap emplacement or forward positioning pieces during play testing (especially on Rhen Var if it's still legal). Most factions have movement breakers so could engage early if necessary.

Disclaimer, I'm in favor raising gambit to 10pt.

Rhen Var is particularly hard to get into round one unless you have a piece with a speed 10.(my favorite map right now)
When it comes to forward positioning pieces, emplacement and us hi don't know if even 10 point gambit is enough incentive for me to want to play any of them... The only one I can Think of off the top of my head is the new crix madine.

I will definitely be keeping this in mind as I play test it more. Just got in one last night with Darkdracul(Bryan). We tested The hutts daala squad against Darth o's klat swarm. The results were good :)

I agree, but those are 9 point pieces, so they won't be getting gambit first round. Battle ready will definitely be better with 10 point gambit though.
