Donated $200.00
I only need 1 set of Warfare-Subterfuge and Diplomacy cards for myself.
I would like some V-set cards to be given away to new players and players who may be struggling.. whatever the reason.
I trust the community leaders and pointmen will see the cards are put to good use.

Nice...Thanks

maybe its about time to just release these as a pdf and let people print them at home. it does have some pretty good things with that approach. if a change needs made to a card that slipped through playtesting (daala) you just rerelease the pdf with the updates, boom. it makes changes so much easier to do.

Aren't they released as PDFs anyway?
Though I agree with the errata bit.

I don't think it's time at all for .pdf only. The quality cards and timed releases of knowing you're going to receive quality work retains a bit of excitement that would be lacking in a file release alone. I always enjoy looking at the new cards and putting them in binders. It also is a way to be sure that everyone playing competitively has the cards at the same time.

I'm not familiar with the legality of copyright issues, but maybe the following situation would not be considered selling: get an announcement out that the v-set cards are going to be ordered from a professional printer on [date]. Everyone who would like to get professional-quality cards can then send the amount necessary for one set to whoever is placing the order, and that person can then buy them in bulk and make sure they get sent around. For those who do not need professional-quality cards, the pdf can be made available.

That is exactly how it is currently done and has been done since the inception of the v-sets. The only slight difference is that printers don't operate on a cost per set. They charge a large set-up cost and then a small per set printed cost.

When is the deadline to donate? When is the release date for the new set? Thanks,

We place our order in mid-to-late december. Release date approximately Feb 1 (or as soon as we get the stuff back from the printer).

My group will donate in a few days, once I get everyone together and take their money :). Can we donate for the last set too? We missed that one and would like cards for that as well.

And as for moving to PDF's only (Just adding my two cents) I do not think that is a good idea. I too, love having the professional cards.

Joining us this Saturday for the LBB Tournament since we didn't do GameHoleCon this year? If so, I've got cards for you.

Yes, you can get cards from the last set as well, just let me know what you need.

Agreed. There are many games that have fan created sets, but having professionally printed cards sets us apart.

professionally printed cards are kind of cool, but not worth the aggravation it seems to be causing. you have lead people in the community getting upset and talks have already begun about how it is getting closer to a time where there will be no extra sets, just what is donated for. if the setup is so expensive then why not just stop making professionally printed cards and take up donations for better prize support at the bigger tournaments? Draw people in more with cool prizes then you will with the cards. I mean if you are taking up close to 2500 dollars for each set of cards in the v-sets imagine the prize support you could offer. and then like I mentioned earlier, making an errata becomes a lot easier, due to the drop in play testing this may become more and more common.

I use my cards often - I'd rather have official cards than any other prize support. It's nice having all my cards in card files so I can find stuff.
