Had mine today. The minis are indeed the same size with a few exceptions such as probe droid. Have not played it yet and probably wont until Thursday. Now deciding weather to paint the new minis for the WOTC game.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention: the actual maps themselves are listed a little higher up on the same post. And ALL the skirmish Command Cards. So yeah...I think we've got everything now.

As much as I hate to say it I think Scott might be right about the skirmish mode with it being second to the Campaign is where the problem lays. I think if it was a like x-wing and stand along game the skirmish mode would do a lot better but its kind of hidden. I am still going to play it heavy during Regional season and Gencon but think it might be Tile Wars V2. I think it will fail because of lack of players and delays. I do think it will have the support though when it comes to Big tournaments and league support.
I really just wish the farm missions didnt start so close together (the doors help a little). It looks like all the missions are pretty balanced when it comes to rounds seems all are around 3-5 get you 20+ VP.
I do like that the games will be fast and not all be about killing things.

A year from now (and therefore, likely, after several more releases), you'll be in a much better position to make statements like this. Right now, you're guessing as much as the next person.

I did it with the lcg never played a game and did just fine at gencon a in 2013 for never playing. My first game was at gencon at the national tournament. I collected the wow ccg never played won my first tournament. Played poker for the first time for money won 1500 dollars in 2004 then won 7500 dollars in row before not cashing.Had only played with my buddy 2-3 times. I read and study. That's all I do my free time other than edit/animate. I very rarely go out. I studied mini maps for about at least 2-3 hours a day for 20 days straight in 2008. Also I never really play tested any of the squads I did well with at regionals.

I would be more impressed if you did that with Netrunner or AGOT than the SWLCG. It's a fun game, but it isn't exactly difficult to make decks for.

I have played this enough to know that there is no way you can setup and finish these games in one hour.

In skirmish: If you have the tiles setup 1-9 in a bag, 10-19, 20-29,30-39 its not that bad. The Rules and Map lists in a blinder easy to get to that helps. Also Scanning and having them on pdf being able to see on your phone would help too. All my games have been done outside of setup in 30 mins or less. I think setup can be done in 5-7 mins with someone else helping if that over time. I think don't think setup will be much difference than setup with SWM over time and if your maps are will organized. Just build the tiles over and over. Over time you will be able to build the maps in no time.

Yeah, Jonny is right. It is no problem at all to finish in less than an hour.
And to make things even simpler, I'm actually planning to look into getting the skirmish maps printed on that cool rubberized playmat surface (the kind often used for CCGs). It might not be allowable for official tournaments (or maybe it might be!), but it will be great for all other situations.

In no way is that relevant, he might love the game does not mean other will, same go's, he may hate it that not saying others wont love it. After all I have read a lot of Jonny's comments over the years on WOTC star wars minis. I often disagree with him on as many points as I agree with him on. So take other members here and there view on this game as just that THERE VIEW! Make up your own mind on it. I have played the game now, I think its ok but not quite on the same level as WOTC's SWM's. Still its very early days many expansions still to come out with more in the works. To do a new mini game that has its own feel and not just a WOTC 2.0 star wars was quite a feat. I personally think they managed that even if I would have done some things different. Still would have preferred the minis painted all the same. I would give the game 5/10 however I also expect that to go up as more expansions come out. This is my rating you lot decide on your own rating when you have played.

The game cant be really judged for skirmish play a til we get all the command cards and the official stats for the two elites we need. Really a game by FFG cant be judged until we get more figures and know the tournament rules. The game and meta so far played out pretty much how I thought it would in my head.

I don't play DCI true. but to say I only play MASS BATTLE's is not true. I might like mass battles more, but when we play its anything from 100 to 500. Its randomized on the day. Also to say you cannot judge from skirmish play is incorrect. I played WOTC mins for 2-3 years before we started to add mass play as an option. If I did not like the skirmish play, I would never have stayed with the game. I just liked the game more when the mass battle option was added by our group. That's not saying the hole group liked mass battles more, which is why the 100-200 point game was kept and why our games were randomized so all had a fair chance to play the game how they wanted as well. I think you can see now the direction the game is heading for the game as it is presented to the public as a board game. Your right about the tournament side, never cared for it & never will. Having said that we were talking about the game as it is and not DCI in any case.
