Ahsoka was a Jedi. Of course in a one on one fight, blaster vs lightsaber, Bane's probably going to lose. But the point is that he won.

That, plus he tried to throw both Asoka and Anakin out an airlock.

Exactly. Most people don't stand a chance one on one against someone with the force, a lightsaber, and halfway decent knowledge of how to use them. Yet Bane not only did that, he also killed a fully trained Jedi (which, yes, I know, happened off-screen, assuming he's the one who did it) and has twice now hidden right under the Jedi's noses.

And this is after only 3 episodes. I suspect we'll be seeing much, much more evidence of just why Cad is far from lame in the future.

Oh, and he looks cool. Especially the hat. Gotta dig the hat.

Likewise. I'm snatching one up as soon as I can get my hands on one. And I'm talking about a full (legit) season 1 DVD. None of this 3-4 episode bare bones nothing but the show stuff.

last night i watched the season premier of clone wars season 2 and was dissapointed by who was going to be one of my new favorite BHs.

granted, the guy can plan well and can improvise even better, but when it came down to it, he lost his fight to ASHOKA TANO. if she would never have gotten a swelled head over taking him down, ol' cad would be in a republic prison somewhere. he got lucky.

how can ol' cad call himself elite in the star wars universe if some giggly valley girl is going to own him in a fight?

Cad Bane didn't necessarily lose the fight, he used his wits/tricks and surprises to overwhelm his opponent, Ahsoka. The thing about Cad, is the fact that he doesn't know how to fight hand-to-hand combat, and all that he's good for is his use for blasters and intelligence. That's what makes him a deadly bounty hunter... he's swift, quick and knows when to run and knows when there's an opportunity to strike

[SPOILER ALERT]Keep in mind that Cad would have killed Ahsoka if he wanted to (like all Jedis that he faced when paid handsomely), but he held back as he devised a plan to lure Anakin into unveiling the holocron.

I honestly think that at the end of the season, cad will be hanging on the edge of a cliff or something dumb like that and then ahsoka will reach a hand down to help him up, but actually just to take back her head bead thingy, letting him fall to his death, because I can't really see him getting diced with a saber. Also I would hardly call killing two jedi stealing the holocron and kaiburr crystal lame. It's more than what Jango did since I believe he only killed two jedi. Also is the kaiburr crystal the same thing from splinter of the mind's eye? I can't wait to see how cad gets out of this next one though..

Simply because its alluded to does not mean it is currently translated into a balanced game mechanic. Who else can eliminate GMLS in one (albeit lucky) attack?

A Gotal Fringer. ;)

I think BF having disintegration is nice, it really plays to the history / mystique of the character. I mean really, you're supposed to say "@&#* is that Boba Fett on the map?"

Besides you can always use a pit on a map to "one shot" someone, right? Its a tactical game.

I stand corrected as I completely forgot about the Gotal. However, that is the GF's only threat. BF is a complete package. And a pit requires a save before insta-death. GMLS has the FP to spend to ensure he survives. Aside from a Bodyguard, 1 lucky roll can auto-kill a 115 point piece. Besides, I think the "mystique" of Boba Fett as a character has outgrown the actual track record of said character. He is cool, and a tough-to-kill bad@$$, but lets not diefy him.

The simple fact that he survived a Jedi assault, killed two jedi, made Ani do his bidding, accomplished his mission, and evaded capture by and entire battalion of Clones makes him one seriously bada** guy. So far, his track record is pretty good, and that's not even including his capture raid on the Republic Senate building to rescue Ziro the Hutt! HOW many senate guards did he kill in that episode? Scared

I was referring to Boba, not Cad.

Who wants to bet that Ahsoka will die by cads hand by the end of the season?

THAT.....would be worse then Fett Falling into the Sarlaac Pit!!

I have nothing against Ahsoka, but I'm really hoping that it's Anakin that kills her... If only to remind people that Anakin is a villain. He killed younglings, betrayed the Jedi, tortured Han, tried to corrupt his kids, killed countless Imperial officers, slaughtered a Tusken Raider camp/clan, etc... and I think it's funny that he's staring in a show whose first season was geared toward kids.

You bring up an interesting point. I wonder how far they will take the story with this series...

I think you can already start to see some of Anakin's attachment to her. Which as several posters predicted in the very beginning would likely contribute to Anakin's fall. I expect we will see more of that this season, even if like the second show, it's just glimpses.

The series is suppose to have happened between Episodes 2 and 3...so there's your ending point.

Repost from another thread cause it belongs here too:

I'm not a Cad fan. The character has been given a big 'push', and in order to do so, Lucasfilm continues it's "dumming" down of the jedi. Let's face it, no Bounty Hunter, no matter what kind of gadgets he has should be able to defeat a Jedi in a one-on-one fight- that's why I LOVED when Mace made a punk out of Jango. That's pretty much how it should go EVERY TIME. However, Lucas couldn't sell nearly as much merchandise if he didn't appeal to the BH fan base.

I'm fully ok with Ashoka whooping Cad's butt, but then being foolish. That's what she is, a very deadly, young girl. I hardly think Cad's big plan was to hope she didn't cut him in half with her lightsaber, beat him up hand-to-hand, then get close enough for him to use his stun-gloves.... RollEyes ...he was just *hoping* to exploit a weakness, which he did.

Unless you want to continueally use Asajj, Dooku, and Grievious, the series needs new villians. And they need to be a threat. Cad Bane does that. You may see it as "pushing" a new character, but really, do you want more villains on par of Guneray and Tambor, or someone who is actually a threat.
