I've played alot of board games that have battlefield conditions determined randomly from a die rolled on a table. Could add some interesting tweaks to a match.

I do like the Lightsaber Defense at a cost of 2 FPs idea. We have been toying with that for a while now but have not tried it yet.
So far the only House Rules we use are shooting out of an adjacent window and a couple of rules for the AT-AT.

We took a lesson from 4E... diagonals count as (1).
It's SOOO much better.
Diagonals as 2 is so freakin' annoying.
Try it, you'll like it, trust me.

The only problem, of course, is that Luke, Kota and such become freakin' superweapons under such rules. They can be devastating enough as it is.

It would have been better if the game was put into a hex system.

Good question...I don't know why we always throw that piece of paper out... a couple though were things like fog, rain, earthquake, immediate fringe (pts) reserves for team (a), absence of the force, bombardment, etc... You can add your own modifiers to each event which makes it pretty fun. These types of games were normally played with 3-4 players. It makes for an entertaining game when you have an earthquake and you move all players 3 squares in a certain direction and it just happens to take them off ledge... and we play no saves for it. editoh yeah, and when we use the rancor... any roll of 20 with him is 'devour'. Instant kill... just like fett's disintigration.
