Solution: Rename the poll 'which faction has the best chance of competing for 'runner-up' at Gen Con this year, since Mandos will clearly win it, I'm sure'

Mandalore is displeased with this poll. The galaxy will burn for this injustice! So glad a wacky Mando squad Trevor kept babbling about was able to hold its own and win. Only loss was to ATM in Swiss but got revenge in the final. Hopefully we can stop with the Dalaa complaining and get back to what minis is all about.....complaining about what won. Mandalore the Vindicated is OP!

No complaining about Daala... seriously? she came in second place, beat you once, and was undefeated til you got revenge in the finals. This is ridiculous considering all the talk about how yoda on kybuck and the vehicles were going to make her almost impossible to play at gencon. the fact is Daala accounted for 25% of the the top 8 25% of the top 4 and 50% of the finals  . Bigger question for me is.... what did Daala face, how many of the "counters" did she beat, from what I have gathered it beat at least the durge on lancer squad. so really it lost to only you. at least that version of it did. Problem is that Daala has so many versions it almost can't be planned for all the time.

Lost to Weeks 0-2
Beat Countrydude DurgeLancer Assaj CadBH 2-1
Beat tint GOWK/Mace 2-1
Lost to Countrydude in round of 8.
Every game could have been easily lost except the Mando BGs.

Only two can be in the finals, yes that is half, but saying 50% makes it sound huge... I don't see daala scouts as the issue. Tough squad? Of course, mixed with diplomats they are nasty. I beat daala snow troops(randy), naboo death shots(lou), Bastilla with antarian rangers(10nth place Bryan hole), weeks mandos, skybuck(bill), talon karde(Jim) and Durge-cad and assaj(Chris). Don't assume though that given a second shot that bill or Chris's games might have gone either way. I do say might, it depends on map and playing of course, but this time I don't have unpredictability on my side. Can I still win? Yes, is it a walk in the park? "H" "E" double hockey sticks no! My squad wasn't a one trick pony, but knowing what to expect makes it so I have to play differently and the games play differently. Skybuck and Durge are still rough matchups for me.

of course there are tough match-ups, but they were saying, yoda beats it vehicles beat it and blah blah blah. fact is daala went 9-1 through swiss, (between you and flying). and you guys both beat the squad you eventually lost to in the playoff rounds. yeah sounds like a problem to me. In the hands of good players you went 11-3 through the tournament and as stated above both beat the squads you lost to (altho Flying only played weeks once so he was 0-1 against him). so sure Daala didn't win gencon doesn't change the powerfulness of the squad,or what she did to the game, See new Zealand, and how did the losses happen? did Weeks beat you because of the change to 10 point gambit? did he just outplay you, etc.
*I know gencon is still going on so I am sure play reports will be occurring and I will see this when they are posted.

The scout troopers are much more resilient to the Yoda/vehicles counters due to their higher HP and better defensive SA's. The downside to that is the lower damage per round because there are less troopers, therefore squads that have better defensive qualities have a much better chance against it. Aside from her Reserves, I don't think Daala is a problem and definitely shouldn't be changed. Imps need a second squad type. The biggest problem with Daala in NZ is that our top players realised how good she was and played her squad types very very well. These same top players are some of the ones that would run the counter squads well also. Anyway, a massive congratulations to both Weeks and Atmsalad!
