Well, so much for the Fringe uniques getting a boost. So the Chieftan's CE is basically a grunts only matter, huh? Too bad. The piece went from a "must have" for me to a "who cares." Like others have already stated, this game has strayed quite a bit from non-uniques. A CE that involves just non-uniques is silly IMHO.

The Chieftan's CE is way too situational now. Are there good fringe non-uniques? Sure. But people will still avoid playing them simply because of pieces like YoBuck or the Lancer running around.

I don't mind a CE that does not make Boba or Dash or Cad better. These guys see plenty of play without the boosts. Now, the non-uniques are certainly not going to replace these guys in squads, but a CE like the Talz can tempt players to experiment a bit more. Not with high stakes on the line, but for regular play.

I think using sub-optimal builds can make anyone a better player by learning to utilize all advantages and get the most of the pieces. The Talz can do that with pieces like the Jawas or Tuskens (especially with the new A'sharad). There are lots of possibilities of pieces to boost, but the trouble is there aren't too many non-uniques to face that have more than 10 HP that see much play time.

I know I will try the Chieftain with some savage characters teamed up with some Empathy. I have fun with the beasts anyway, so I'm looking forward to using this guy. This set looks to me to be shaking up the Tier 2-5 type squads without a major impact on the top Tier (haven't absorbed all the ramifications yet of what we know and things could change with more previews).

I really don't see more than 60. Compare him to the Blademaster and Marauder. He already has a bit more than the Blademaster, so I don't see him getting a lot more HP. 60 sounds about right.

The Jedi Watchman looks exactly like Kai Justiss. Great pose too, I might add.

The Blademaster had Twin, Melee, and Parry, with 40 HP, for 18 points.

We've had some power creep since then and "Xian Jedi Hunter" figures tend to be high-HP to survive getting into fights with lightsabers.

My money's on 80 HP.

Is it amazing to anyone else that we are not getting any Luke, vader, Han, Leia, Obi-Wan, Anakin, etc. in this set?

Aside from Chewie, few uniques from this set have very many if any other minis from other sets. I'm amazed!

We haven't had THAT much. I don't see that much HP on a fig with Twin, Jedi Hunter, and Parry.

the mandalorian at 24 points should definitely have 60 HP or more.
the mando captain has 50 at 23 points, and the quarter master has 70 at 26 points.
so for a piece with twin and parry, i would have to say they get either 60 or 70.
either way, im happy to see a mando jedi hunter, and will want 2 of them to bring my blademasters to life!

Compare it to the YV Jedi Hunter. 70 HP, Melee, Twin, JH, Crab Armor 6, and Force Immunity, for 20 points. 1 higher Attack, 1 lower Defense, balance out, but...

Parry is not worth 4 more than Crab Armor 6 and Force Immunity.

Parry + +10 Dam vs VCA 6 and Force Immunity. Granted, I don't think he said the dam, but based on the Blademaster, the JH should be 20 Dam. Even at 60, he will be perfect for the anti-jedi role, more than able to hold off a few JWM or JBM. Also, keep in mind, that comparing similar figs in different factions is really tough. It is far better to compare to the other Mandos than the Vong.

Yeah, I don't see the Mando JH getting more than 60 hit points either. It would be consistent with the rest of the Mandos and the faction in general. They are high damage pieces with low HPs. I'd be shocked if he has more than 60 HPs.

Hate to be pushy, but does the Mando JH have 60 HPs? I'm genuinely curious.

Aww... I'm actually a little disappointed. I'd have prefered it if he looked like Arca Jeth, an actual Watchman. Oh, well, here's hopin' for MotF.

Truth be told, I believe Kai is considered a Watchman. Even so, I'm disappointed too. An OR piece using a Clone Wars era Jedi as a model? Odd to say the least.

I don't see the similarity to Kai Justiss. Looks like a generic Jedi to me (not unlike the JBM). Haircut and robe sleeves are different than Kai's.

I had such high hopes for this set, yet im not that happy with this set. I was so happy when i saw that it had kir kanos and even more happy when it had a mandalorian jedi hunter. However know that we have the stats im sad. The mandalorian jedi hunter in my opinion should be higher. We don't know the stats yet for the HP, but so far he's not that great. I think for him to see some actual play time his HP would need to be like 90 (which i know its not going to be). As for Kir im so blasted sad about his piece. He has only melee, twin, loner, and emperor palpatine's gaurd. with force sense. He should cost way less for what he has, plus he's lacking a bunch of stats he should have. To me he is knid of like the first dash, its cool we have a piece of him, but he sucks. He should have stealth for sure, he also shouldn't have melee attack. His main weapon is that imperial guard double spear, yet he uses alot of guns to. He doesn't even have mobile attack which he should also have. He has low damage output, for a max of only 40? what the heck is this, this must not be the samae character im thinking of that single handed took down conor jax the new emperor, and hundreds of troops on both sides. This piece would be destroyed by a weapon master, in a couple of turns and he cost 8 more points. This set for me turned out to be just a disapointment.
