I asked Fool about that, he mentioned NDAs.

Wow, sounds like a load of bull to me. I realize NDAs are important, but he can't even hint at the next set? He doesn't even have to give the set's name. We're just looking for a sign that the game will go on.

In my experience, when a WotC employee cites the phrase "NDA," it usually means one of two things:

1. There is someone in the room, another WotC employee probably, that the person doesn't want to have that information because it's his or her "ace in the hole" against that person.

2. The person hasn't been told the answer and is trying to make it look as though he or she just isn't allowed to talk about it.

Not saying that's the case here, but that is the typical issue. You almost have to have an NDA of your own to get past that bull crap, and sometimes not even that is good enough.

Amazing. Simply amazing. They act like the info is top secret, FBI classified material. It's a game. Methinks they take themselves too seriously.

On a related note, these type of actions are a great way to alienate your customers. Simple questions regarding future sets shouldn't be ignored or waved away by an NDA.

Not trying to knock what you said, but as former military what they are doing is pretty smart. Not trying to argue or anything just my opinion. Smile

As current military I agree haha, if anything this information gives me hope for future sets. Also if they told us the answer then we would be relieved, when they don't we keep coming back and digging around, thus generating more excitement in some weird twisted way. I for one think this confirms the excistence of another set. The only question is FU2 or Clone Wars?

I don't think so.

If you read what Peter said, he's pretty clear that in fact MotF is already in the works. That's not to say of course that plans may have changed but I severely doubt they put so much into something that they will not release.

Either way they can't talk about it and thanks to everyone for the kind words.

Well that one is a given but the question is the third set this year, if there is one. MOTF is the supposed last set.

there is also the fact that its not just Wizards. Lucasarts have probably issues their own NDAs to Wizards which probably freezes a lot of what Wizards are allowed to talk about (i.e. future marketing ventures by Lucasarts that wizards will be invovled in).

Its easy to get caught up in what is not said but really when trying to read between the lines you might as well put a tinfoil hat on if you have no info.

I agree with Fingersandteeth on this one. I write contracts and NDAs for a living and since Lucasarts holds the license they have ultimate control of what is released to the public. I would have to examine the clause but I would guess Wizards would have to notify Lucasarts 30 days prior to any release of information to the public and would need thier consent.

Politics, oh I hate them so. I realize they are everywhere, but that doesn't mean I have to like them. I love that Peter was willing to do the interview, but NDAs and the like dampen whatever information you could glean from the interview. Almost self-defeating.

And yes, I'm familiar with NDAs (of a sort). The teacher profession can get very tight-lipped about future decisions. They love to hang people out to dry. From what I have observed with Wizards, they do much the same.

I enjoyed reading the interview for what it is. It was interesting to see his experience and thought process when designing figures. Nice transition for him to have most of the design already set to focus on the stats. Thanks for doing the interview and sharing.

From my history of playing other Star Wars games it seems Lucas is very picky about information getting out. Matt Lanter, who does Anakin in the cartoon, elaborated in an interview on how strict Lucas is about NDA's. When he visited his ranch to discuss issues with the cartoon he said they were not allowed to even mention the meeting until told it was ok.

As for the licensing, I talked to Jim Monday night. He said Hasbro has the licensing through 2019 and that WoTC was supposed to be piggybacked onto that contract. He wasn't 100% positive, but that was what Sarah had told him at one time.

Right now I don't see any reason to speculate as there is little we can do. I say we enjoy the sets we have coming and play and have as much fun as we can. I think it is important to support the game in whatever fashion we can in the most positive ways possible. We try all the time to bring in new players so that we can do our part to increase the sales. There is little else we can do.

Yeah, something is obviously being planned for this fall. Fairly certain most did not know about the "TV Movie Event" that is this fall. Of course, it could just be the CW movie, but it is interesting news.

Someone leaked the Hasbro marketing calendar and in Sept it is marked "TV movie event", so there is alot of conjecture about what that is. Me, I think it is just the first airing of the CW movie on TV, but it is vague enough for some people to think it has something to do with the live action TV show (which isn't even in production yet, hence why I think doubtful) or something else. I know I am much more excited about the Boba helmet and blaster or the new AT-AT. I can't wait for Toyfair!

Oh if you want to see the calendar then you can go here-

Again, as former military, very smart on George Lucas part. In my opinion. ThumpUp
