Bring him back...people aren't happy with that either. Well, can't have your cake and eat it too... Well Lobostele, i am not happy about him being brought back. & thats my right as an American to feel that way. Also my right as a bloomilk member to feel that way to & also my right to state my opinion on the matter. I read this threads title & responded my opinion & thoughts, so for you to comment my post & then adding your comments at the end of it mocking me & laughing at what i posted or what i said wrong, well noone asked you to do that. By doing stuff like that will make newbies afraid to post on a forum because they will feel that if they type something wrong then a veteran will eat apart there whole post. Kind of how you just did me. Just think it was a little ignorant for someone of your status to do. Now saying that, was it really called for? How about we just let people comment on what they think & feel & not critisize there whole post & pick apart everything they may of said wrong or you disagree on. Sorry you felt it was a personal slight on you. Didn't mean it that way. Basically only quoted your posts because they were ones to reply to. My thoughts apply to anyone who would present the argument that you did. And I wasn't laughing at you at all. And please don't put chips on shoulder that aren't there. You started with a fairly heated opinion, and I just responded by debunking some of the incorrect things you had stated. Didn't mean any ill harm by it. In all honesty, comments like yours about the doom and gloom of SWM and "going down in flames" will hurt newbies coming onto the forums just as much as anything else. As always...everyone is entitled to their opinions, but if you're going to post it on a message board, then you better be prepared for people to debate it with you. And if you're wrong about something, than all the more reason for people to speak up and correct you, so that others don't draw the same wrong conclusions.

Outside of Dynamic Duos and Boba Fett, no. And this change may be changed as well, as the original banning was only of Disintegration. Dean was amazed that BF, BH was banned from that format as it wasn't his intent. There was a miscommunication somewhere. This is on the SWM Rules Forum pinned at the top for those to follow that conversation. Just play GOWK with the change to SSM style, and you are good to go.

MOD HAT ON: Okay people, remember, debate the topic, not the people. MOD HAT OFF.
Anyways, a tons of thanks for Dean for all the hard work. I am likely going to be spending the night going over it. I must say, this is a big surprise. I have to totally rethink squads. Suddenly, the contents of DT's seems to makes a little more sense. Mando JH and JH Droid are perfect GOWK hate.
The Lansing tournament is going to be amazing. I really need to playtest.

Okay, so does this mean that the new Soresu Style Mastery rule applies to DCI tournaments only, or for all games. The reason I ask is because the few times I play GOWK freely, I like how SSM is because it reflects how Obi-Wan actually was.

DCI rules apply only to DCI events. Outside of that, you can play however you want.

DCI sanctioned tournaments only, until such time that an official Errata is made.

How is he EVER banned in your book if you don't play DCI? You don't have to answer the question, I just think that if you don't play DCI, then the change on him should not affect you anyway.

Possibly a "gentleman's ban" where the local community all agree not to play him?

That's up there with killing two birds with one stone "Dude, you're not gonna use both those rocks, are you? There's a recession! You gotta conserve."

Honestly, I can't see how this can be read as anything other than a positive development. Now I live an interantional flight from DCI, but if I could, I'd most definatly be a DCI player. I try to keep up to date with rule changes for DCI, and use those rules, becuase I think they're more fun.
Bringing GOWK back is a great way to open up the meta. EVERYONE was frustrated with the Snowspeeder meta, so here you go, it's over with.
I can see a pretty diverse group of squads becoming widely used, and I can't see 1 dominant build! This is a wonderful thing people!
Look at what's good now:
Rebel Snowspeeder - still very good Rebel push - making a comeback Han Cannon - Always been great Vader Black and Blue - yeah, ditch Cad, and put Vader back in those squads! Palpy on Throne/Vader Unleashed - Great against GOWK Sep Droids - Have been great for a while now GOWK/Dash or Rex/Lobot - was an all-time great build General Ani/Yobuck - seems pretty good against most things Wedge/Kyle/Mara - Maybe throw in Shado for anti-melee Malak/Holosid - always a good GOWK counter Vong/Cad Bane - Strong anti-melee
There's heaps more, and they're all great options!
Flobi is still good too becuase of Flight/Surprise move/SSM + great CE, just a different build to GOWK.
Great to see an open meta again.
