at least there's plenty of figures, resources, and game ideas to still make it competitive and fun for years to come. This is where SWM customs will have their part in games. Mybe not competitive, but definitely fun games.

I would imagine that this game makes enough money that a company would want to invest in the effort to produce SWM, and I'm sure Lucas would want SWM to continue with his TV shows and all still on the air. So, what companies would have the capacity to produce this game?
Even if no company came along to make new SWM, we still have a fairly strong gaming community that it could keep going strong. I do have a question though, will SWM (the community) still use DCI after August or do we go plan B? What would plan B be? If you are interested in plan B, head over to Gamers, as that's most likely where it would be developed. I think essentially it would come down to the players setting up the organization to run tournaments instaed of some other company.

WotC_Rob was the lead designer and he left WotC a little after the GOWK incident. But automatically we had another lead designer jump in to finish the sets Rob had worked on and created new pieces (reason we have so many different and unique things in DT). Well, to be fair, the "GOWK Incident" was really less than a year ago. It was in June that GOWK got banned. It was only in March or so before that, when the Errata hit that turned him into the beast that he was. So, it hasn't even been a full year since that 'incident'. With the way WOTC worked on these sets, GAW was probably almost completely finished around that time. So, yeah, the lead designer left shortly after the GOWK incident, but that pretty much coincides with the mid-point of the design cycle for the Dark Times set. So, basically the same thing I was saying above. :P jhc36 wrote:well... pretty disappointing that I could possibly never see a new yuuzhan vong character... I don't know if I would worry TOO much about it dude....if the players are able to make stats/pieces in some way to continue 'releasing' stuff to add to the game....you can bet I'll definitely push to get some more Vong on the table. We still need Shimrra, darn it.

I really hope the game continues in one form or another. Before I got into SWMinis, I wasn't interested in these types of games. And I'm not interested in the CCGames like magic or trying to get into another minis game. Well, at least I could create some awesome dioramas with my minis.

There is always a remedy. The idea on Gamers is a good one, and i want to help in any way that I possibly can. I don't see myself doing anything else as far as Table Tops go.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm for sure going to keep playing (and collecting where I can). I have a couple guys that are interested in learning and I'm all for teaching them. I want my kid to play this game one day, so these babies are staying around for a while.
I am very appreciative of Gamers willing to keep the community alive. I hope that we can all help out where we can to keep this game going!

I dunno, i just dont see this as a big problem like some of you do. I dont think this is the end of the game, for one StarWars is a big name & this game can be a big money maker & im sure another company will see that. Not to mention theres more Starwars shows coming out & who knows in the future could be more movies & obviously more games. So as long as the Starwars franchise is still doing stuff in other area's of buisness, i dont see this game going down without a fight.
So saying that i dont see this game going down in flames, like others mentioned theres so many figures that will keep people playing it for years to come. I think it might be a year or more before someone else picks it up so it would be that long to see a new figure, but i dont see another company not picking this up. So in my opinion i wouldnt worry to much.

What fools WOTC are! To have such a great game and mess it up/not support it properly...
I do hope all the talk of the game continuing is true. This is such a great game and such a wonderful community.
I guess we could see the writing on the wall, but to read about it today still really sucks
