Yeah, this looks like it's going to crash and burn.

I don't think so

1
cause it's going to sell regardless; There is already a bigger market for the figures

2
It can't "Crash and burn" if it's not ment to be "successful"
(by OUR standards...)

I don't forsee anyone @ Hasbro setting up a real tournament support system for public use

At $8 a figure give or take...how many can people afford at that price. This looks like a dumbed down version of SWM...They already did that kids SW game, I forget what it was called but it was with cartooney SW figures (looked great but the game play was lacking)and you tried to knock down other figures with missiles etc... I haven't seen it on the shelves in years, it didn't last long.

I'm sure it will sell initially because it's Star Wars but as a game....I have my doubts.

It will sell because it is attached to the popular action figures, not because it is a game.

so they are going to repackage figures that have been released in the past?
sorry folks but i refuse to buy figures i already have just to get the required pieces for a game.
how many times have you gone to the toy store and seen the same figures repackaged in different packing?
i will pass on this.
if they had any brains they would pick up the license for the minis game and pick up where wizards left off.
dont change anything about the game just pick up where they left off.

If sales are strong then why would they use a silly gimmick?? I know it's not uncommon to "spice" things up from time to time but they just squashed our game and then they announce that they're making this new game...One that I think has little appeal to true "gamers".

ok, maybe I need to see more to this, but from what I have seen and read so far, this game looks ABSOLUTELY BORING, and a cheap way to sell more figures.
Hope the real thing is WAY better than how it looks so far.

Did you expect it to be something more like this? ;)

The action figures will sell the same as they have. This is not meant to be a game to replace the minis. The "game cards" are a simple pack-in meant to replace the Build-a-droid pack-ins the line currently is using. They've done board games that use action figures before as a gimmick, not as a collectible game. And yeah, the figures are $8 each, but that is cheaper than most VRs. lol

The whole point of the game is to increase the value of the figure so that they can charge a little more for it. They've been doing some form of this for years. Slides, weapon packs, build-a-droid, holographic figures, and other stuff. It will last 1 or 2 years before they move on to something else.

My guess is that game play will be very similar to the Top Trumps game with the die determining which additional bonus is applied from the top row of the card. It's not a strategy game and has no relationship to SWM, it's just something to add perceived value to the action figures.

About ten minutes. If you saw my dining room, you would understand. There are thousands of the actions figures in display cases around the room, so it was just a matter of pulling a few and putting them on the table. I've thought of doing other pics with the ones that correspond with the minis, but haven't gotten around to it yet. The mouse droids don't exactly fit on the base on this scale, but I liked how they looked, too.

Glad a few of you got a laugh.

It would be cool if you took a map to Kinko's or whatever & had them blow up like a quarter of it to fit the size of thos figures. In fact that would be an interesting way to play the game. SWM terrain & movement rules with the new Hasbro fighting system?
