In my opinion, anytime a set has been used to fully "open up" either rock, paper or Scizzors it does not end well. Vehicles? Naboo troops? Daala? And some would say mace, but I disagree with that one. As Tim, Les and others have said in the past, gradual steps are much more beneficial for the games development as a opposed to either silver bullets or steroids. In my opinion...

If you are talking about a one piece meta shift, than I fully agree with you.

Man, guess I haven't been around lately.

1 declining group of folks who claim to love SWM splitting up into 2 smaller groups.

Not healthy for the game.

Carry on.

Would it be better that the group just left completely?

No. But this is a small enough community that fracturing isn't a good thing. Not assigning blame to one side or the other, just an observation.

Why would you assume I meant one side should leave?

I didn't assume anything, thus why I asked a question.

I think that the fracture has been a good thing. I will use my perspective to explain why.

It has kept me in the SWM community, looking on bloomilk, sometimes tuning into SHHN, I am, right now, playing in a vassal tournament with people I didnt seeing myself playing with a year ago.
I checked out the new vset pieces, look at vset pieces for ideas, Having been in large discussions about future V-sets and the path the future of the game should take, discussed even the philosophy of designing for the game. A philosophy that would have been hard to discuss without Legacy.

Two, opposing forces, can create a sense of competition (even if we try to avoid it). Competition can bring about the best in people. I know that having to present a different style than V-set designs have created has made me want to make sure the pieces I design are very well done and well thought it.

I also think that with two different perspectives on philosophy in the community people can be heard and proper turns can be made.

Just some reasons why I think the "fracture" has been a good thing. Legacy can and has stopped some "bleeding"
