Boba has proven without a doubt that he is the best shooter in the game and fits into any faction without a problem, what a champ, best 50 point piece in the game hands down.

That's been the story at regionals this entire season. That's only cause I couldn't make a lot regionals this year. Kidding, this is not my kind of Meta at all. This is the kind of meta we had when I wouldn't play in the champs (or just played a fun squad just for the hell of it.)

(one of the versions does contain Boba ) I know what you are talking about. He ran it against me in our NZ Vassal Tournament game. It's a rough rock squad, and he plays it well. Can't wait to hear what matches he had leading up to the top 8. He's been playing that squad for a bit now, he played a version of it last year in one of the Side GenCon Tournaments (and this year's PA Regional) and it just got meaner with Freedon Naad, Force Spirit. He doesn't like to talk about it as it gives away the "trick" and surprise of it. Even when you figure it out, depending on the version it can get very very tanky very quickly. (he has at least 4 main variations that I can think of and then further tweaks from there.) He is a great player, and I've had a rough time with this squad for a while. He was a little worried it wouldn't compete well with some of the meta changes, but Top 8!

If Boba is in the Sidious squad, we know he is in both of the Double swaps, Jim is running single swap Boba. That's 4 Boba squads. TiNT is running him as well now that I think about it, that puts us at 5. Spry is running him in his all fringe, we're at 6 now.
I don't think Deri is, and I don't think Jason K is running him. Wow, 5 or 6 of the top 8 squads at Gencon all feature Boba.

Best 50 point piece? More like best piece. The dude is giving R2 Astromech a serious run for his money for best overall piece in the game.

I think he's the best attacker in the game, especially with the Klat Assassin gone, but there's a decent sized group of tech pieces I'd place above him - R2, Mitt'Thrawn, Imperial Governor, Daala, Dodonna, Ozzel, LOBOT, San Hill, MTB etc. I always think tech rules this game, but maybe that's just a different way of thinking about things.

Grievous on Wheelbike is a pretty interesting call against Boba right? With Damage Reduction he can survive two rounds of Opportunist/Talon boosted shots from Boba.

I think Royal Rumble is going on now. Tim, and Deri are playing that, I think Jason and TINT are as well. I am not sure on the others, but I am guessing they are waiting on top 8 matches.

Jason K (8) knocks off Matt Spry (1). Big upset there, 8 seed knocks off the 1 seed. Jason K moving on.

TJ (6) just defeated TINT (3) so Mace is out, and Caedus is on to the Final 4. Jake yet another one you called! 2 for 2 bro!

The grievous squad also has a spotter and 2 snipers who each have double. If Boba doesn't take his chances against energy shield then it will be a game of killing scrubs until one finally makes a move towards the big guys, in which case, I give the advantage to grievous. The grievous squad also has something like 26 base activations (or something stupid like that) so I'm pretty sure it outactivates Boba even if Boba has Lobot/Marn/Gha. It's a tough squad.

So with Jason beating Spry, we have one Imp squad in the Final 4, ATM and Jim play in a bit, and both are running Boba Imp Swap, so we know and Imp squad from that match will be going through to the Final 4. And now with TJ beating TINT, we have a Sith Squad in the Final 4. Is this the best showing by Sith at Gencon, ever? So we know 3 of the factions that will be represented in the Final 4.
Still waiting to see if Deri's Seps, or Tim's Imps fill that 4th spot.

When's the last time a "bad guy" faction won GenCon (I kind of regard Mandalorians as neutral). 2006?

Edit* pretty sure he lost to bill in semis running revan/jaq swap squad. bill ran yobuck right, killed all his door control and won by lockout if i remember...
