Oh no, don't hate on Saesee. Just put your mind into what situations he's perfect for and you'll grow to love him with prejudice.

Yes, Armoured Space Suit is essentially Resilient, or immune to Crits.

Yoda is GREAT. A super source of FPs. Not only does he grant someone more FPs, he lets them and all others access to his as well. As for using him with Luke, I think Mettle may almost be worth it.

I don't totally get the Saesee hate. Djem so style mastery mixed with Mettle seems pretty nice to me. He's not amazing or game breaking but I think he seems like some fun to use. Oh and he's not a commander. that's also a useful little thing about him.

Aye, but what would he work with?

Off the top of my head, Jet Obi/Windu, GOWK, Akosha, Yoda to name a few, along with the swaps squads.

Ploo meanwhle is a really potent hard hitter on the move or standing still. Standing still he can hit for 70, moving 40, provided he has the condictions set up. The main reason not to use him is because anikain is better at moving and attacking, but does not nessiarily make him terrible on his own merits, plus different commender effect which makes the actual commander effect a benfit rather then a burden on a 23 meatsack (mon).

Saesee doesn't impress me in any area else than the sculpt. I think i will choose shaak ti, jm 95% of the time.

Aye, it's hard for him when General Aninkin is only 3 points more, and a flat out better deal. Kit Pristo from that set is better, because he has surprise move and double twin, for some more points, Kit is pretty well loaded out for that route. Even Akosha Commander is probably more favourable, and both of her forms are in the low/mid 20's!

Yoda meanwhile is epic epic win, he would be pretty awesome in either squad, a slightly better version of Obi or Luke spirit with built in protection, at a higher cost. Can't wait to see anikin force spirit. I bet he will grant some sort of momentum/attack bonus.

Yoda is growing on me. I like the idea of using him with GMLS or Kota. I realize both have renewal, but they tend to eat through FPs at a fast rate.

EDIT: BTW, I love the sculpt. The poster did not do it justice. He will look great in the ole collection.

a great point mentioned last night on sithholonews was the ability to lockdown with Saesee Tiin. What I mean is that you can base somebody and with opportunist now they have to truly think about taking an attack of opportunity, combine that with a assault and he just attacked you on his turn, and you took 40 damage before crits on your own turn.

They have 14 Atk, 20 def. Quite simply, you use them because they fill a different roll than Skywalker. Plo is a commander and a better swapper, with greater damage output. Saesee is a bit more solid than Skyalker, with access to great stat boosts. And dssm is a better anti melee threat than Shaak Ti's riposte.
A lot of the dejariks have 14 def.

True enough, Saesee can pretty much win a streight up fight with General Skywalker, considering his general stats are better (same defence, 2 more attack, 30 more hp, immunity to critical hits to take away luck hit factor. With a better counter attack. The only real advantage Gen Ani gets +16 and 30 damage on the first swing, something Sas can do on +18 30 on every successful counter attack. Ow indeed)

Not to mention that he gets to use GOWK (Sure, thats 101 points, but considering Obi's ability to deflect almost ranged attacks hits with enough force points. 24 defence and 18 attack is very respectable for fun games, or epic 500 point games I would imagine.)

Just the problem is, Saesee is really specialised. If you don't use him in his role (anti-melee) he just does 40 damage at best when normally, melee interfearance is something that is normally kept cheap. So really, the best way to compare him is between him and Kit from 2 sets ago as they are effectively the same function, a melee beast that can be dropped in. Only one is more specialised then the other, one actually gets a good bonus from being hit, and the other is just very good at getting 4 attacks off, but is 14 points more.

So, what is the Affinity with the new Vader? Does it allow him to be in a Republic squad if it contains a 501st character? Clarification would be nice.

Allows characters with 501st in their name to be in a squad with him.

Thanks Demosthenes for the info; although, I would rather have a Vader with the capacity to be in republic squad rather then be able to pull the 501st troopers into imperial squads--in hindsight I guess it makes more sense but too bad to can't pull Rex into an imperial squad without the use of Palpatine.

He can pull the 501st Commander Rex into an imperial squad.

Once Ani became a Sith Apprentice he stopped being part of the Republic ;) I just wish his Affinity was "Characters whose name contains Rex or 501st" so we could get Captain Rex instead of just Commander Rex. Rex 2.0 is still a nice mini with great firepower, just more helpful when it's Captain Rex for his (IMO better) CE.

Totally agree. Rex 2.0 is okay, but he pales when compared to Clone Wars Rex. Now if you swapped CEs, I think it would be better. Also, I think GaW Rex should have had Twin instead of Double.
