You should have asked Cat Woman if she was single. She didn't play, but sometime during the weekend she was sitting at the end of the Star Wars Minis table. Purrrr.

Actually the mistake here is in your interpretation of what was said. What you believed to be true, was never true. We never said that if you work hard you automatically became a designer at all. You keep saying that we either lied or mislead you, but its simply your reading of what was said that was wrong. No one to my knowledge every even inferred what you are claiming. We said things like, "Community input is an important part of our selection process and here's a great way anyone can get involved." But I'm sorry, no matter what you think about designing, not everyone can do it well. The hard part to understand is that if you personally don't have it, you also likely don't realize you don't have it, and you probably don't even know what "it" is. So you can keep throwing your temper tantrum about us lying to you or whatever, I don't really care. It's completely unconstructive at this point, but do what you want. I've cleared up that particular nuttiness however factually. And as for super secret PMs, I don't give two shoots about evidence that cannot be seen. Its not evidence, it's nothing. If you want it considered, then post it, otherwise shut up. The grand conspiracies do far more harm to the community than anything else. I'm sorry you don't like everything that's done, I really am. But I'm also at the point that I don't care at all what you say, you are basically the boy crying wolf now, and that is entirely because of how you have chosen to go about this in this particular thread. We are a small community of maybe 200 people. There's no need for this kind of crap. Take a time out and rethink your life here and how you are contributing to it.

I know that Guri looked a bit familiar but that "Custom Contest" in the custom forum seems to help generate some abstract ideas that are made specific in the creation.

Take a time out and rethink your life here and how you are contributing to it. lol Bill you are awesome. and you are about as right about this as you were mace windu never winning gencon We are a community of around 200 people, and only 17 have say with what happens in the game awesome. hmmmm you want me to post what was said, believe me I would love to, but I actually like some of the designers out there and like I have said repeatedly I won't do it. I don't need you to know if it is true or not, because I can go read the private posts and laugh at how far you are from the truth. Edit***** oh I just can't help myself, I wont post their name, but this is a nice little quote about ___: He can be incredibly bullheaded sometimes (designer) oh yeah lol, and it makes me laugh (me) I've seen him argue with lots of people, including myself, and I can't think of a time when he's ever changed his mind about something, haha (designer) But that doesn't stop me from arguing with him either (designer) Here is a quote from another designer: I've never designed directly with them - but yes - from everything I've seen - if you are not X, Y or Z, you're WRONG! Another one: Step 1 - attempt to counter some of the crazy power creep in vset 6 (designer) Oh wait yet another: Yeah. In my opinion it was the stupidest thing they could possibly do to make a bunch of beefy strafers and galloping attackers. (designer) Another claiming pieces are broken Or did you mean Luke and Leia on Speeder? That piece is straight up broken (Designer) In my oppinion ___ should not design again for the pure fact that he doesn't see daala and naboo as an issue. (playtester) and this is what people think you designers are doing to the game in private: The game is swaying towards swarm and Scizzors. Because that's what they like to play! I thought they were trying to balance they game out by making counters to strafe/gallop. Then they come out with daala.... (playtester) The reason I posted this was because maybe the designers aren't as good at designing as you think you are, and some of the other top people in the game think so as well. Maybe if you would include more people you would be pleasantly surprised at the outcomes. and mod's go ahead and delete this post I know that something like this just can't be allowed to stay in the open for to long. lol No, but I'll take out all the names, as you should have.

Yep, this has gotten a bit too personal.
Look, I am perfectly willing to let people voice complaints about whatever, and even have a bit of back and forth with each other if it stays civil.
I don't like private conversations such as the above being made public without permission or removing specific name references. Regardless of who allegedly made the comments and who they are about. Likewise, nobody should be encouraging someone else to post such conversations.
If anyone was thinking for some reason that the designers all see eye-to-eye with each other about any particular design or the direction of a set, I'm here to tell you that ain't the case. It's no different than any other group of people with varying ideas and opinions that have to work together to get things done.
I'm leaving this up because I do think people should be able to speak freely about things they don't like about the state of the game and how things operate, but not if the intent is to trash individual people.
Read all you like, but this is staying locked.

Abuse of Mod powers!!!!
I just wanted to say something before Swinefeld locked the thread, but didn't write it in time.
These discussions are always interesting to me. Looking at the requirements some have for what they feel would be an ideal designer is funny. So many of them don't apply to me. Good at competitive play? Nope, my best days were in the relatively early WOTC years. Playtester? Nope. And of course, the application was well after my time.
That said, I would challenge anyone to say that I don't understand this game or did not put in the work. And based on what people have said about V5 and V8, I didn't do too bad of a job designing. So, there are a lot of different things that can make a good designer. Playtesting alone does not mean that you will be a good designer. I have gotten some very bad playtest reports and suggestions. I appreciate the work, but it was never a gaurentee that it would convince people that you would be a good designer. I browsed some of the applications. I didn't follow the application process too closely, but I think they were all fairly looked at. Remember, the application process is there to encorourage a wider variety of blood in the designers.
And things do get heated. I assure you, the ability to handle discussion when it gets heated is a key ingredient to working well with the group. Calling out a designer for being hard headed is rather silly. I think all the designers are hard headed, myself included, over certain things in design. It is essentially a creative endeavour, so emotions can run high when a disagreement pops up.
And back to locking the thread.
