In tournament play, if I use a SA/FP that damages enemy characters as well as my own (lightning 2, War Throat, ect) and I kill one of my own characters, who gets the points? Does my opponent? I wouldn't think I would get the full amount so maybe we split it 50/50?

No matter how a character dies, the opponent get's the points.

The only time the points would be out given differently would be in a game with more than 2 players. If your actions defeat your own character, the points for that character are split evenly amongst all opponents (round up). In a 2 player game, it means your opponent would get the full points, but in a 3 player game, each of your opponents will only get half of that character's points.

Oddly enough, this is only covered in the RS, CS, and RotS rulebooks.
