Its that time again! Registration is now open for the NZ Vassal tournament! We will hopefully be starting on or around the 25th (Tuesday week). Please either PM me or reply bellow to register your interest. This tournament should run for about 5-7 weeks depending on the number of players. The format is the same as past years, 200pts faction and fringe and you may change your squad from game to game. I'd be super stoked to have any of our foreign members playing (as long as you can organise a game with your opponent within a weeks notice). Last year we had Mando playing with us and this year I hope to get even more of you folks from the US joining in. There is an awesome trophy that goes to the winner, made by the amazing Kerry Logan (it lives at my house, so try taking it off me!). Also, if you're a keen SWM Vassal player, please join us on our Facebook page at SWM Vassal where we can get together and organise games and meet some awesome people. Fly casual

Awesome! This was a lot of fun last year, so I encourage all the US players to join also. The time difference isn't to bad in getting games scheduled, so don't let it deter you from joining. I'll definitely be joining in on the fun again. Bloomail sent!

Hey I would be glad to throw my hat into the ring! I don't have much competitive play experience, but I would still enjoy playing. I think a week to set up a game should be no problem for me, I usually can find some time.

i'd like to get involved in this but i'm not sure how well i would be able to connect with guys in NZ.
I can mainly play in the evenings (CT US). Not sure how that flies with the time difference.

These are all the players I have messages from, that wanted to play. For some of you I have full names and BlooMilk handles, some I tried to put the pieces together and for others, it's just your Bloo handles sorry. If I've got it wrong, or if I don't have your name, could you please post it here or BM me with it.
If you guys can also hit me with an Email address, that would be handy as that will make it easier for me to advise you of your match up. Also a Skype handle would help too.
I will post the 1st round match ups here, on the SWM Vassal FB page and the Save11 FB page.
1. Dr Daman (Dave Moore) 2. Kezzamachine (Kerry Logan) 3. Darth O (Oli Simpson) 4. Mike Moore Smuggler (Mike Moore) 5. Sharron (Aaron Crutis) 6. DarthRattlehead (Richard Allen) 7. EDIT: Oh, and one more thing: THANK YOU!!! for organizing this. I promise I'll buy you a the next time I see you (in other words, I want to move to NZ or else have the whole NZ crew come up for Gencon). 14 people in a Vassal event...now that's a thing I haven't heard of for a long, long time....

Is it too late for anyone else to join? Also, my VASSAL is up to date and I have all the V-Sets, but I'm not sure if I have all the map packs, could one of you fine people direct me to a link where I can get them? Also also, this is my first VASSAL tourney, so if someone can point me toward the specific rules for this tournament that would be awesome. Thanks guys, really excited... Also also also, my email is racanelli89@hotmail.com

I'm excited! :D Hopefully one day, a few from the US can save up enough money to go over to NZ and play. I'd be down for saving for a year to go there.

Our 3-2-1 scoring system will be in place for this tournament. For those that don't know, the 1 point is achieved by gaining half of the required victory points in a game (in this case 100 points). Its funny you mention us coming over for Gencon. A whole lot of us are planning on coming over for the 2015 tournament

Deathwielded and myself played out game tonight. I won the matchup and the final score was 139-52.Squads are posted bellow.
Deathwielded's squad was:
Zam my Dralling, I hope you're not in a Foul Mood.-- 48 Cin Drallig, Jedi Battlemaster 44 Zam Wesell, Bounty Hunter 27 Lobot 23 Foul Moudama 16 Qui-Gon Jinn, Force Spirit 9 R2-D2, Astromech Droid 5 Rodian Diplomat 25 Spaarti Clone Trooper Demolitionist x5 3 Mouse Droid
(200pts. 13 activations)
Mando's squad was:
--The Jade Warlord-- 69 Darth Sidious, Supreme Chancellor 39 Quinlan Vos, Double Agent 27 Mara Jade, Smuggler 20 General Whorm Loathsom 12 Klatooinian Assassin 10 San Hill 8 R7 Astromech Droid 9 Mouse Droid x3 6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2
(200pts. 12 activations)
Deathwielded won map roll and he chose Rhen Var Citadel. I set up on the left side. I got an early 60 dmg on Zam, but Zam responded by killing of mara. The klat assasin put 60 dmg on Foul. AFter Cin dralig crited on a lightsaber precision strike (dealing 60 dmg to Vos), Quinlan Vos went head to head with Cin Dralig and rolled 2 crits amonst all the 4 attacks. Cin failed his parry all but 1 parry save andwent down The next turn Quinlan took out R2. Qui gon FS really made it hard for me to win init. Sidious had a hard time getting close enough to do his leaping assault and tried 2 times to defeat Qui gon FS, with the second attempt initially suceeding, but qui gon rerolled with a fp and saved him self, however leaving him with not enough force to do Sense the Future. I won init and Sidious laeaping assaulted in and killed a Spaarti, Foul (and qui gon who haunted him) and an R7. After that time was up and the game was over. It was a hard fought game and Deathwielded played his squad very well. Good game!
