If you use Watto to give a character Slave and that character is not close enough to a commander (therefore gaining Savage), can you use Tott's Beast Tamer to give it Mount? Also, will it lose Savage for the rest of the skirmish, or just until you check for Slave again?

2. You can't regain Savage.

And I would have gotten away with it if not for you meddling kids! (shakes fist) I would say yes, for the same reason. If you lose Savage for the rest of the skirmish you cannot gain it back by any means.

So if Darth Malgus uses Face You Destiny on a piece, can you use Beast Tamer to give it Mount?

The question I have for that situation is, does the character still have to move adjacent to Malgus? Given that it is no longer Savage, and so Empathy is irrelevant, I think it could be said that the character is not being affected by the ability anymore, BUT, the power lasts until Malgus's next turn, and that particular clause is separate. Interesting.
