It takes two spaces to move into a green square, but once you are on top of a green square is it only 1 space to move into another square since you are already elevated?

Just to clarify, every green or yellow square you move into is two movement points. There is no movement penalty for leaving such a square (i.e., if you move from a green square onto regular terrain, that's only one).
