Does ABM (and other Force abilities) affect Droids and nonliving characters? Eg can it give extra damage to Zann Consortium Droidekas and Mice?

It's not a commander effect and doesn't state living, so yes that and for example force meditation work on Droids. You cannot however give damage to a character without a starting damage value. so You can't EVER give the Mouse Droids damage. I have tried. same with the New Talon Karrde, Information Broker, he can't give Lobot damage with his CE as Lobot doesn't have damage to begin with.

I believe the only way around this is with the "Thrawn Gun" method. Thrawn (Mitth'raw'nuruodo) gives Opportunist which grants the damage boost even if you don't have any to start with. Just like Darth Wyyrlok III does to himself.

Really? I thought it had to say characters with a damage value greater than zero. That's how they errated Roger Roger and that's how close range targeting computer is worded.

You're correct, and just like those abilities, that line of text is in the Glossary:

Quote:
(Force; 3 Force points) Instead of taking its normal turn, until the start of this character's next turn, this character gains the following Force ability; Allies get +10 Damage and enemy commander effects have no effect. This damage bonus applies only to characters that have a Damage value greater than 0.

As is often the case the Glossery has the answers you are looking for. Advanced battle Meditation : (Force; 3 Force points) Instead of taking its normal turn, until the start of this character's next turn, this character gains the following Force ability; Allies get +10 Damage and enemy commander effects have no effect. This damage bonus applies only to characters that have a Damage value greater than 0.

The Commander Effects are also ruled the same way

Mouse Droids aren't subject to commander effects because they are droids.

Lobot can benefit from commander effects unless they specifically say he can't (due to having 0 base damage). For example, he can get Opportunist and shoot if paired with Thrawn.

This is incorrect. I asked this question in this rules forum back on September 16 of last year. You can find it about 18 pages back under the topic "Straight stat bonus question". Swinefeld answered that Lobot can benefit from a straight stat bonus CE just as he can from named abilities. This is different than ABM...ABM expressly states in the glossary that characters like Lobot...with 0 damage...can't benefit from ABM. There are no such caveats on either Talon Karrde's card or the glossary.
