I am trying to explain to a new player in my group that Droid specific commander effects or special abilities don't apply to Cyborgs ( ie, Grievous and Battle Droid Officer ). Can someone please clarify the explanation and also, help me to find where it explains this. Thanks very much,
MC

Actually, you're in the wrong here. A Cyborg counts as both a Droid and a Non-Droid, and so an ability or commander effect that affects droids will also apply to them.
Now what doesn't affect Cyborgs would be things that affect non-living characters as even though a Cyborg character can count as a droid, they are still living.
This is covered under the glossary definition of Cyborg (Though the definition did forget to change the example after Ion Gun was changed to non-living).

Separatists 57 General Grievous, Droid Army Commander 100 19 8 20 CE CE Separatists 13 Techno Union Combat Engineer 30 14 2 10 CE Fringe 12 Klatooinian Assassin 30 14 12 20 CE Separatists 9 Battle Droid Officer 20 13 0 10 CE
So then, what you are saying here is that with the following would be the correct calculations for my assassin; 18 defense, 20 attack, and twin attack, as long as he was within 6 of Grievous?

Well, yes. Except the Commander Effect is board wide so you don't have to be within 6. Check out the squad builds with the Techno Union Combat Engineer.

If a character with "Slave" is not within 6 of a commander, then the Slave character becomes Savage, therefore losing Grievous' commander effect. Am I not reading this correctly?
