Stable Platform: After making an attack on its turn, this character may immediately use a special ability that replaces attacks.

Clarification - Is this like all the other "an attack" stuff meaning just one attack, not two or more?

It can use the ability each time it attacks on its turn.

(I'm not sure what other stuff you are referring to)

He can't make two attacks and then missile?

The "other stuff" being Charging Fire, Master Yoda's CE.(for examples)

i believe the way it's worded means that if he gains double (Via Vader/Palp) he can missile 2x also

It would apply to any attack it makes on its turn, as I understand the intent. That would theoretically include Charging Fire etc. but the Spacetrooper has Heavy Weapon, so it can't move and attack in the same turn to begin with.

Using the SA after attacking is optional, but it is immediate so you can't attack twice then missile twice. Use it or lose it after each attack.

heavy weapon,ThumbDown totally castrates this piece.

Joe as able to get off 3 attacks, and then 3 missiles only once, even though he could swap

??if they are SPACE troopers, in space, how would weight of the weapon even matter??Wink

I don't think any SWM maps are in space.... In fact, if they were designed to be in space, it makes sense that they have a heavy weapon, because that wouldn't be a concern when the suit was designed. When it's brought into a more normal gravitational environment, the weight of their weapons slows them down.

Exactly! I remember fighting against these guys in Jedi Academy, man they were a pain! Shields and he had a huge damage with his cannon. Best bet in the game to kill him was Lightning maxed out cus he just shrugs off most damage, even lightsaber attacks. I'm so glad the designers made him and that they made him reasonably good. This was almost a perfect representation. Heavy weapon is really the only thing that keeps him balanced.

Stable Platform is one of those SA's that are really cool, but difficult to make characters with while keeping them balanced. I played a game were a character (not the spacetrooper but a custom character) was using Stable Platform with 4 attacks and Missiles while using GMA and it was nuts. It was a custom battle and needless to say I pointed out how broken that could be.

I have used the Spacetrooper and he is pretty nasty, if he is positioned well. I used him with Thrawn and the Elite Snowtrooper with E-Web Blaster to use as a swap piece.
The Opportunist helps stick the regular shot and the ESEB is nice starting in gambit were you know the action is going to be.
