Hey guys, this thread is to talk about Map list B. What do you like/dislike about these maps? What map do you think works best for melee, shooters or strafe? What different tactics do you use? No bashing but speak your mind. ThumbsUp

I really like most of these maps, although I haven't played Starport a lot. I used to be anti Rancor Pen, but I've come around to it now.

My least favourite is probably Cantina, because it takes a while to get anywhere, and it favours Cloaked etc. I certainly don't hate it or want it off the list or anything, it's just my least favourite of this good selection of maps.

Star ports my favorite of this map list(I inadvertently put that it is my least favorite), it's easy on the eyes and it has a different layout that just about any other map we have. Good job to who ever picks the new maps, I am a fan of all 3 of the new ones. My least favorite is a toss up between cliff side citadel and simulation deck. (I have never played on cantina though) Personally I wouldn't mind seeing either of them get the boot, lol

I played against Caedus on Simulation Deck for the first time for ages last night. I've forgotten how nasty it is - there are very few squares anywhere near the centre that are more than 6 away from a pit. Almost my entire Mandalorian squad was dropped into a single pit. We were playing more casual squads - I had 10 activations and no override. I was playing Mando pure so everyone could Resol'nare, and I thought three Mando Demolitionists would cover me, but override would have helped a lot. I still like the map, although it can be slow with all the difficult terrain.

Do you mean 3 away from a pit?

He can SBM twice in a turn, so within 6 squares of a pit you can be in trouble. Especially non force-users who can't reroll. Mandos (no force points to reroll), low activations, and no override is just playing into his hands though - bad matchup, and I wasn't playing a tournament level squad.

Gotcha, that would be ugly. The biggest reason I don't like that map is because the terrain lines aren't clearly defined enough for me. Other than that I wouldnt mind playing on it at all. Both sides are identical, good unique gambit area, creative door placement and plenty of first turn protection. I just can't see those dang lines, lol

They are hard to see but agood rule of thumb is that all the ramps are difficult terrain.

Thanks! I also avoid that map because it's not as clearly defined for me as I would feel comfortable. Defining the ramps helped
