Just wondered what people's favorite pieces were in Shadow's since we've not really seen anything about this since it was released. I really like a lot of the peices in this set, so getting my top 5 picked was rather difficult. But to start things off, here goes:

1) Elite Republic Commando - Boss

I would put all the new Elite Republic commandos here if i could, but since they would take up too much space in my top 5, I'll just represent them with Boss. I loved the game these characters are based off of, and I'm really glad to see a competitive version of them in this set. Great job by the design team! I know for sure we will be seeing them come regionals next year.

2) Exar Kun, Dark Jedi

I love this version of Exar. I liked the old one to, but he costs way to much to be playable in our current meta, and the slow power creep since he came out hasn't done him any favors. Now we have a much more playable Exar and he's freakin' awesome! Good CE and good abilities!

3) Boba Fett, Assassin for Hire

I think we got a really cool take of Boba Fett in this piece and he adds some cool mechanics to the game. He's well designed and can fit into just about any squad. Excellend piece that I think will make his way into many squads next regional season!

4) Domain Lah Subaltern

After many years of playing Vong and being frustrated going against those stupid geonosian drones with SD 20 thanks to Poggle, it was nice to see a defense against that and also other squads with SD built in or given via CE. The Vong always suffered against this game mechanic, so it was a well designed piece that addresses a major issue with the vong going against some top tier squads in the meta.

5) Arfan Ramos

This guy is just cool! I love that he gives super stealth to melee pieces that really need it when going against so many shooter squads. I feel like there is a few really good squads out there with some antarian Rangers and Green jedi mixed together.

I actually think this is my favourite v-set ever - lots of great pieces, not many mediocre ones, and nothing that looks meta-dominant at this stage.

Boba Fett, Assassin for Hire
- I think they got him perfectly - definitely a top tier piece, but noone's complaining he's broken.

Falleen Black Sun Bodyguard
- I like bodyguards, and I think these things have a ton of damage potential too.

Commando Droid Officer
- I'm trying to figure out a good squad with these guys, but a cannon CE for Sep droids has a lot of potential.

Elite Republic Commando - Sev
- It's really good for the Republic to have a nasty in-faction shooter apart from Rex. Accurate and twin. The set of four Commandos is great (although we've been trying them out for an upcoming 117 point tournament in New Zealand, and can't get them to win a game).

Emperor Palpatine, Reborn
- really fun, flavourful beatstick.

My list is very very similar to TheHutts

-Palpatine Reborn
Really really fun. One of the most fun squads I've ever played was Palpatine and Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith. Just pure Rock but so much fun.

-Commando Droid Officer
Just strong, I played him a lot when the set first came out and giving a BX Sniper another shot or even better IG-88 a shot? Its just so good.

-Boba
I took Boba, Merc to a regional last year and I wish I could have had this guy instead, he is just outstanding.

-Shado Vao
I want to pick an NR Jedi since they are my favorite, but its hard between him and Wolf...this guys is just solid, and I like that, he fits really well with a Cade or without one.

-Chewie
Best Chewbacca ever? Its hard to say I like a lot of them but this one is new and different and has a lot of clever abilities.

If we aren't counting the Undying Set then I won't list the 2 new force spirits, since Kol definitely would have been on it and Nadd most likely.

My top 5 are:
1. Elite Republic Commandos- If I had to choose one I would go with Scorch only because he is a cheaper better option to grant Shield 2 with.
2. Mira of Nar Shaddaa (so much fun rolled into one)
3. Vilmarh "Villie" Grahrk (great Pilot and save screwer upper. Probably will be very fun with GMA and Evade)
4. R2-D2, Galactic Hero (Distraction and cheap Override for the NR is great, but Smoke Skreen is were it's at!)
5. Guri, Black Sun Enforcer (she is great in an all fringe squad, but I think with Anti Cloakd Sensers and Assassin she's a pretty good option in almost any faction too)

Honorable mentions:
Ommin, Sith Sorceror (looks like lots of fun)
Boba Fett, Assassin for Hire (cuz how can we get away without mentioning the best Boba to date?)
Togruta Covenant Seer (cheap and really good melee pieces)
Chewie (cuz he is just Chewie, not to mention his stats are awesome!)

interesting honestly have not looked much into set 8 so here are mine after some quick reads:

1.Emperor Palpatine, Reborn don't really care for the commander effect, but the rest of his abilities are rock solid.

2. Chewie really wish more characters had special abilities that were unique to themselves like this piece, how freaking epic!

3. Boba Fett, Assassin for Hire I believe we will be seeing a lot of this man.

4. Klatooinian Black Sun Thug any alternates for door control get a big + from me, I may even be looking at adding this guy to the legends set a little later on.

5. Elite Republic Commando - Fixer I know a lot of people think he is the worst of the commandos, but the +4 attack that can't be disrupted or anything is to big for me to want to pass up.

1. Xizor, Head of Black Sun - With such Black Sun characters It's not hard to imagine the subfaction reaching Tier 1 status.

2. Freedon Nadd, Dark Force Spirit - Perfectly fits a much needed niche between Exar DFS and Sids Holo for the force hungry Sith.

3. Neo-Crusader Officer- His CE + Neo-Crusaders... OMG... powerhouse. MANDO squads are so the new Tier 1 faction.

4. Mira of Nar Shaddaa- Fun to play and at only 28 points she is a steal and fits nicely into several different factions.

5. Chewie- Bursting with Flavor. Seriously cool.

for me i have to go with:
1. Republic Commandos: hard to pick just one (maybe sev). Possibly competitive now and that is great.

2. Xizor, Head of black sun: Realy like the way he boosts Black sun, Both in Commanders and giving Accurate like the Original.

3. Neo-Crusader Officer: Breaking the Dependance on twin is nice, plus it is inventive.

4.Commando Droid officer: Great boost for some obsoleted pieces, plus a good CE.

5. Admiral Trench: Love how it Drastically can change the Faction, not only with accurate, but also with cutting the Dependance on Grievous.

1 Commando Droid Officer - this guy rocks and adds a fresh boost on the commandos... Or more so itself haha
2 Mira - Move over Dash and make room for another cheap competitive fringe mobile hero.
3 Domain Lah Subaltern/warrior -this is how the Vong should be and a great step in the right direction!
4 Ommin -A very interesting and well designed piece for an emplacement
5 Arfan Ramos -sweet piece! Love the CE!

And a shout out to the awesome Republic Commando pieces and Grievous bodyguard as well

I have to agree with some of the other posts that this is one of my favorite v-sets yet. So many great pieces that seem to be the quintessential versions of themselves.

1. Boba Assasin for hire: Awesome version of everyones favorite bounty hunter, very powerful but with some unique tricks up his gauntlets as well.

2. Chewie: Awesome design job on this guy, nailed the flavor of the character perfectly.

3. Ommin sith sorcerer: Don't know if this guy will be tourney viable but I've played a few games with him and he is easily my favorite piece with emplacement. Couple him with Caedus for a little battle manipulation and he really shines.

4. Palpatine Reborn: What an absolute monster of a beatsick. I think we could easily see a resurgence of rock squads this coming season and I can't imagine this guy not making a splash somewhere.

5. Commando droid officer: these guys are just too good to ignore. I personally don't care to play seps. very often, but I can say that these guys could possibly change that.

It's really hard to pick only 5 as there are so many great pieces to chose from. Thank you to all the designers and playtesters involved in bringing us this new set and hopefully many more to come.
