Last night we ran our first event of the 2014-2015 season, and officially our first with the latest Vset pieces. 8 players (and 2 spectators!) showed up at my house for the first of our three 100pt tournaments that we have on our calendar. Jim apologised for not being able to make it (something about trying on women's underwear) so we had to soldier on without him. 8 players meant three rounds and because I didn't want to have folk at my house too late, we decided the #1 after Swiss would be our first minor champ of the year. Defending champ Graham/Hutts was unavailable and it was our first tournament without Daala - as she has been banned in NZ for the foreseeable future. Aaaaand, when I say 100pts, we mixed it up a bit by saying 100+die roll. I rolled 17 a month ago so, 117pts it is!

Anyhoo, we had:
Me(!)/kezzamachine: "Fantastic Boba" Boba AFS, Mirta, Neo Officer and 2 Mando Demos,
JP: "Yodafone" Yoda HOG, R2 Astro and an R7,
Mike/Smuggler: "Commando Strike" the four new Elite Republic Commandos plus n/u Boss,
Paul: "Omminous" Ommin, Alema, Exar/Raggie/Freedon Force Spirits,
Ian: "The Crix of the Matter" Boba AFS, Luke RC, Crix, R2 Sensor,
Aaron/Sharron: "Yo... d'uh" Yoda HOG, R2 Astro
Alan: "Yes, It's Me" Boba AFS, Talon,
Stuart: "The Thug Life" Nom Anor, Togorian BSV, Black Sun Thugs.

...and it went down like this:
Round 1
Mike v Stuart 132-50 (3-0) on Cargo Docks
Paul v Ian 63-10 2 (2-0) on Peaceful City
Aaron v Kezza 117-0 (3-0) on Great Library
Alan v JP 130-5 (3-0) on Theed Palace

Round 2
Kezza v Ian 132-34 (3-0) on Great Library
JP v Stuart 127-25 (3-0) on Peaceful City
Paul v Mike 141-50 (3-0) on Great Library
Aaron v Alan 122-17 (3-0) on Great Library

Round 3
Stuart v Ian 88-15 (2-0) on Cargo Docks
JP v Kezza 147-33 (3-0) on Peaceful City
Alan v Mike 117-27 (3-0) on Great Library
Aaron v Paul 117-35 (3-0) on Peaceful City

and the final standings after 3 rounds were:
1st: Aaron/Sharron (3-0) 9pts
2nd: Alan (2-1) 6pts
3rd: JP (2-1) 6pts
4th: Paul (2-1) 5pts
5th: Mike (1-2) 3pts
Kezza (1-2) 3pts
7th: Stuart (1-2) 2pts
8th: Ian (0-3) 0pts

Congrats to Yod... Aaron who won the first event of the year! It's his 6th title and his 2nd 100pt title. And - yay! - Daala didn't win. I would have totally won the tournament if it wasn't for my two losses. Some more stats will follow, plus any play reports we can drag out of the players. An interesting sidenote is that 100pt characters, while chewing up almost all your squad, are very powerful in a format like this! A year ago, JP won our NNC100 (100pts) running JUST Luke Master of the Order. Very funny to watch...

Rock!

Thanks for keeping us abreast of the developments. I feel like a real boob for not being able to show up.

Sometimes you guys can be a handful, but if you need to get it off your chest, go ahead. Trying to bring this post back on topic, we saw a lot of new pieces from the latest set, but no one with Rolling Cleavage.
