Warfare and Subterfuge will be finishing and going to the printer soon, so it's time to start our regular donation drive!

This one is for V-set #9, Warfare and Subterfuge, along with the Diplomacy microset. The suggested donation is going to be $30. This is just a suggested donation; a donation is not required to get a set, but donations are the only thing that allows us to continue getting these professionally printed, so please try to make a donation, even if it's not the full amount. If you can donate extra for people who are unable to, that's excellent too.

The goal this time is ~$2500.

As always we'll be using the pointman system.

UPDATE: Got a quote from the printer and this run is going to be a little cheaper than expected; should be approximately $2000 instead of $2500. Thanks for all the donations so far!

I don't actually even have access to that paypal account, but I'd bet that you are. Smile

Oh, and if anyone is interested in the first spoiler (just a name), you should probably check out last night's SHNN....

Donations have been slow so far.

Only around $200 or so have been donated so far this time around.

That is ridiculous, this might be the time everyone stops getting sets unless they or some of their group donates.

the sad fact is the game is in deep decline, and the ghost town that was Bloo milk is not helping
to keep the game aliveCrying

Obviously it is in decline as would be the case for any game that ceased to make product years prior. However, the core group remains and all along we have had way too many people not donate to help the cause and printing costs, yet enjoy the sets. Everyone I know that has donated is always more than willing to hand out past sets in the effort to get people to play. The time for that may end if people do not donate, as simple as that. If you have a play group that plays and you cannot pony up for at least half the group it is a detriment to the VSETS and future VSETS. I have donated for every single set and do not mind if people that do not donate or sponge do not get cards, goodbye if that is the case. I personally would not mind a comprehensive list of people that have donated for each set. Any long time players and community members lacking in that regard, I have no use for their opinion on VSETS or SWM as a whole.

Past people that have donated and still want to play and have not given please do so as soon as possible. Naysayers matter not, their opinion is white noise. As far as selling them, I said donations. If it is in decline as you say and we have set 9 on the way, I am pretty sure Disney doesn't give a %$* about such a small group of people.

I just donated $30.

I wonder if it would be helpful to put "V-Set 9 DONATIONS" in the title of this thread? I was looking for where to donate, but it took me a while to find this thread. My eyes generally tend to glaze over the first 5-6 threads on the General page, since they're always the same, so I didn't see this donation thread until now. I see the value of making it an Announcement, but I think it gets lost in the clutter. Just a thought....

I agree with you that people do need to donate. I've donated the suggested amount each time. As a matter of fact, I ended up donating TWICE for one of them, because I had forgotten that I had already donated, and so I donated again. OMG Oh well, it was money well spent. So yes, I do think that people need to donate.

But I don't agree that a person's opinion is unimportant if they don't donate. Not all people have the discretionary funds to do so. Other people might not be set up to make payments via Paypal (rare nowadays, but possible). Who knows what the reasons could be? I'm sure that some people do milk the system, like the freeloaders that they are. But I don't think it's helpful to get aggressive about it. Besides, having to live with yourself as a freeloader is already punishment enough for being a freeloader. Blink

Here's the way I'd prefer to state it:
People, we NEED everyone to donate, if possible--even if you cannot donate the full $30. Since the community is getting smaller, we can no longer rely on the donations of other people to provide us with professionally printed V-Set cards. If you've been getting free sets for a while, please start donating for them now, because we need your help if this project is going to see completion.

I agree with the donations for v-set cards. However those of us in my group make ALL our own cards Design and print ourselves, some vset mostly customs of our own. And i make all the custom models, 3-D terrain, original maps etc... We have been doing this since WOTC still made the stuff! I love this site for communicating about custom builds and other SWM fans.

Great points and I agree Trevor. Thanks to all that have jumped in. Maybe I was having a bad day that day haha. For those that do not have PayPal, I recommend they give to a friend who does...I have had done this for at least 2 different friends. Also, even if they can't give the recommended $30 any amount they could give will help and is better than nothing.

Sorry if I offended anyone, just fired up for SWM!

Donated $200.00
I only need 1 set of Warfare-Subterfuge and Diplomacy cards for myself.
I would like some V-set cards to be given away to new players and players who may be struggling.. whatever the reason.
I trust the community leaders and pointmen will see the cards are put to good use.
