Howdy!
It's time to start gearing up for the festive season, and after a few years of shall we say, a scale drought and figures drought, we now live through the la nina deluge of many options once again! Perfect as we're heading into festive season 2014 (time flies when we're having fun huh?)
So many scales, and 'arenas' (how many played/play the SWTCG that WotC made again?), so little time...
A followup to some older news;
I think I've seen this mentioned here by some others a while back actually, so apologies if I'm stealing the thunder here;
a few providers out there have completed several SW factions and vehicles in 15mm scale;
http://www.lead-adventure.de/index.php?PHPSESSID=5d054f221442b65c0837a73b3d27169b&topic=53205.45perfect for closer approximations of engagements and that 'shock and awe' factor in games or campaigns - in these scales, a Lucrehulk would still be as big as a garage, but you could maybe fit in the smaller capital ships in scale with the troopers... heh.
I'm hoping to complete this trade during a European sojourn nextyear - its top stuff and I find yoda to be the best figure of the lot!
The Revell LAAT is a fraction too big for the 15mm figures, but its getting closer!
Various kits and snaptites get close, as do the 1/116 kits out there.
the thing I'm impressed most at is the droids detail at this scale, and the super-cheap hordes of DDs you can field. They're compatible with all my Mechwarrior stuff (pewter, plastic, the occasional balsa)! We can also finally answer the 'what if' - who would win: GW40K epic or SWM epic? the answer? Neither! But the mighty 82nd airborne in epic scale... those guys teaming up with the Romans... that'd make for a solid Sunday game session!
They've got the whole Ep1thru3 Jedi Council, and many of the CW EU characters.
The rebels and Imperials are on the drawing boards.
Cheers!
