Hey guys, I was wondering what the current system for choosing the veteran designers on each set is? I know that for the new designers we have the form and a narrowing down process, but it's sort of unclear to me what the process is for picking the veterans for each set. Thank y'all in advance! I have heard in the deepest parts of the underworld the designers that have the blackest hearts are chosen and that is determined by which of the games biggest npes they love to play.

In all reality, it goes something like this. We try not to have anyone design 2 sets in a row to avoid burn-out. Then around the time a set is finishing up, someone pipes up and we talk about who wants to do the set 2 sets from then. Then it usually works itself out as for the past few sets there have basically been the exact number who are able to commit the time and such. Then we add the fourth person a little later and move on.

Okay, so it's just who ever is available or whoever wants to? Kind of like calling shotgun in a car? Lol

I believe the last time the V-Set guys made a call for more people one of the major criteria was playtesting, so if you have regular games in your area, you can work yourself into position; those of us who don't, not so much

BigGrin I'd love to help but I'm lucky if I play 2 - 3 times a year; not often enough for serious playtesting.

We = the group of current and past designers. I think maybe a couple of non-designers are in there too (maybe some quality control or graphics guys).

That's pretty much it, and of that pool, there are a handful that are no longer active and/or choose not to participate in those discussions. I generally don't, as I have to work with whoever the team is, from the rules side.

Trevor and I played it with dial up back in the day. It takes not very much bandwidth.

Lol so 14 people are running the show. Honestly more then I thought. I imagine you fourteen people in robes in the forest late at night sacrificing a jawa and asking the dark Lord of minis about how to proceed. Maybe casting bones or reading each others palms lol.

Not jawas, never jawas. Always ewoks. Tastes like chicken. Very delicious with a nice chianti.

And we regularly add more people, basically it's based on the people heading up PT, or designing, or doing QC, Printing, etc. Pretty much any of our major jobs that needs to be in on the discussion. We've also added the leaders from NZ, and probably a couple of others as needed.
